Lush high desert river oasis nestled in a fertile valley in the Carson National Forest right between the fiery expanse of Taos and the rolling colorful formations of Abiquiu. Peaceful and private 3 acres right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people, no shops)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives.
Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft.
I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house.
I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils.
+++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce.
The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars.
With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great.
Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away.
*No cell service in the greater area. WiFi reaches around the house/deck and allows for WiFi Calling: that’s a setting in your phone that enables phone calls & texts beside usual internet access.

This glamp zone occupies only 1.25 acres. Part of our mission in creating this space is to bring folks together. We encourage campers to mingle. Maybe organize a group float down the Chama. The float from just above Bodes to our very own shore is wonderful. It takes about two hours. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil.
Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave.

Lush high desert river oasis nestled in a fertile valley in the Carson National Forest right between the fiery expanse of Taos and the rolling colorful formations of Abiquiu. Peaceful and private 3 acres right by the river at the edge of a little quaint town called La Madera (145 people, no shops)- just 6 miles to the healing mineral Hot Springs of Ojo Caliente, a place of emergence or rebirth as known to the local Natives.
Right by the river, held by a ridge (that makes for amazing sunset hikes), I have a 16ft Yurt Canvas set up with furnishings (desk, couch, wash stand) and a wooden Queen Bed with down bedding. This site can only be reached by foot across the river via stumps- a car can be parked near by.. approx. 50ft.
I also have a Vintage Camper that can be heated, has a kitchen, electricity and plenty of outdoor furniture with a fire pit and serene mountain views. As well as a monastic and very grounding Ensuite Bedroom, or a simple campsite if you want to bring your own camper or tent. All facilities have access to a guest bathroom inside the main house.
I offer dog sitting while you soak at Ojo, healing modalities that you'll find in the Extras section, and my dear neighbor Jackie takes appointments for massages with homemade essential oils.
+++ 6 miles to Ojo Caliente Hot Springs. There you will find the best restaurant in the area, with locally/organically farmed produce.
The land is naturally and beautifully wild- it is not a manicured campsite. The dirt rd down to the property is best suited for higher clearance vehicles, but is manageable for city cars.
With land by the river comes the mosquitos- June to August only. They are predominantly active during sunrise and sunset; long loose fitting clothes and a repellent work great.
Waterhole, Waterfall and climbing sites near by, as well as Plaza Blanca, Abiquiu, Ghost Ranch and the Taos Gorge are 30 mins drive away.
*No cell service in the greater area. WiFi reaches around the house/deck and allows for WiFi Calling: that’s a setting in your phone that enables phone calls & texts beside usual internet access.

This glamp zone occupies only 1.25 acres. Part of our mission in creating this space is to bring folks together. We encourage campers to mingle. Maybe organize a group float down the Chama. The float from just above Bodes to our very own shore is wonderful. It takes about two hours. There is one challenging spot, but beside that, the float is calm and tranquil.
Please be aware, we have cats, chickens, goats, donkeys, horses and dogs that live on the property. Your pets are welcome only if they are guaranteed to not pester or hurt our posse of pets. Also, we will not tolerate excessive barking or inappropriate running around or bothering ourselves or other guests. You must pick up all your and your pets waste and take it with you when you leave.

We loved staying at the Silo! It served as a great base camp for our adventures throughout the weekend. It’s a short drive from Santa Fe and Taos and surrounded by a ton of outdoor recreation areas. The space itself had everything we needed - fully stocked kitchen, bathroom with a shower, and a comfortable bed. It’s also secluded and offers great solitude surrounded by nature. We briefly crossed paths with Pat who was very friendly and welcoming. We would happily stay again and suggest this stay to everyone!

Very cute little place. Nice private location, but easy to find. Pat is very kind. There were a few things in the Silo that didn't work upon arrival. Pat brought in the maintenance man, but was unable to fix them during our stay. Thanks for putting in the effort.
The bed is very firm but we found it very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen and linens situation. Porches are really nice for enjoying the views. We would definitely stay here again.

3 nights at Stone House Lodge & RV
We loved how it was tucked away in the mountains. Tons of wildlife! We saw deer, turkeys, HUGE jack rabbits and also heard elk. The staff was VERY nice and the food at the café was also very good. We would definitely stay here again next time were in the area.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Glamping Tipis on Off-Grid, 70 Acre Working Ranch
Traveling cross country for 3 weeks, I have stayed at a few places and this is one of my favorites! The location is beyond beautiful. Creekside with foot bridges, tipi had everything I needed and MORE! The cows and horses were fun to watch and the hammock next to my tipi beside the creek was so relaxing. I could actually see the Milky Way. Lastly the hosts were so friendly and helpful. Bringing me extra firewood for the awesome stone fire pit I forgot to mention that has beautiful wooden rocking chairs. It’s beyond amazing and unbelievably priced.

I love this land in the Tusas Valley - the sounds of elks bugling, coyotes calling, and the Rio Tusas running nearby...
Deborah is such a personable and attentive host but never intrusive. The restaurant her family owns over in Tres Piedras is a treasure too. I have stayed in both the yurt and tipis, and they are clean and fitted out with everything you need. Me and my dog were happy to return

Weekend Trip to Casa de KAMA (The Silo)
Pat was responsive to all our questions before and during our stay, and we appreciated her flexibility. Our concern about a gas smell turned out to be an unlit pilot light on the stove, and that was easily remedied. We also wondered if a silo would be drafty--but it wasn't. We were there in early October, and the view of the surrounding Chama River Valley was beautiful. We loved the Silo and would stay there again!

Such a beautiful place. The views are in incredible. We could see the Milky Way and shooting stars at night by the campfire. Listening to the creek and watching the cows and horses was so relaxing. The campsite was well provisioned and comfortable. When Deb said all you need to bring is yourselves and your food she wasn’t kidding. Wonderful, friendly hosts! The nights were cool but we were warm enough with the campstove and covers provided. After a drive one day we ordered carry out from the Chili Line Depot which was so good we stopped in again for breakfast the day we left. Chili Line had helpful friendly staff, too. We hope to visit this amazing ‘Glamp’ site again in the spring.
