At River Bend Retreat, you can fish straight from the dock, launch your kayak, and even put your boat in using our private community boat ramp 1/4 mile from the home. Boats up to 20 feet can be tied up and kept on the dock during your stay, making it easy to spend full days exploring the NE Cape Fear River. When the sun goes down, you can cook by the fire pit, unwind under the trees and stars, and, if you choose, upgrade your night with a WOOD-FIRED HOT TUB overlooking the river.
Our hand-built Wood Fired Tub is available as an add-on for guests who want to turn a fishing trip into a relaxing retreat. For $50 per night, we pre-fill the tub and set it up for you, and the price includes three bundles of wood, which is enough to heat and maintain the tub for the evening. All you have to do is light the fire, wait for the water to warm, and settle in for a quiet soak outdoors.
This site is available to RVs and campervans only, and offer full hookups , including septic, 110v power, and fresh water (for additional price). There is no bathroom on the property, so your RV or campervan must be fully self-contained with its own toilet and shower. The pull-through driveway is flat, and the dock, hot-tub and fire pit are all conveniently located just steps from your parking spot. Extra firewood is available if needed, and the dock has lighting for night fishing, as well as space to tie off kayaks or small boats during your stay.
The site also offers a flat 6 mile dirt road perfect for a peaceful walk or hike, where you can explore and even search for historic shark teeth.

The hosts were extremely responsive, helpful and accommodating. We tried to get ahead but ended up stuck through the snow storm. In a panic I made the wrong reservation but without hesitation there was someone on the phone to ensure we safely arrived in the proper slip. Clean restrooms, friendly staff, laundry facilities, accessible trash area and even had a propane filling station. Walmart close by and near a plethora of places to eat…when not snowed in. Definitely recommend. Only advise: to consider not showering while laundry is in use - only due to low pressure and lack of control to fire and ice temperatures 😅 **this is Not a complaint, just to be aware**

The place was great! The bathhouse needed cleaning and supplies. There was no hot water in the shower. Other than that, we liked the play area for the children. During summer, the pool is a must!

We were able to find the campsite without much trouble (we actually used the address of the neighbor to locate the driveway more easily based on street view. We arrived and our host described where to go.
Although we had hoped to see some horses while here, there weren't any out during our stay.
I will say if many of the sites were full, I'd be concerned with turning a larger rig combo like ours to exit.
Other than that, we had a pleasant stay and would return in the future.

Spacious Skies Sandy Run is a great campground! So convenient to I95 and easy to use for an overnight on our way south! The park is very clean and well maintained! Great staff even after hours! Overall our experience was excellent!

The host was very welcoming and gave us all the info we needed. We thought the camp was lovely all nestled in trees with sandy (but navigable!) lanes. It was also really convenient for our northward on I-95 journey home.
