There is river access with bank fishing and a boat ramp. The Loess Hills are nearby and the state forest. This custom designed glamping lodge was a dream of mine for a long time. I wanted a place to go to unwind and be with one with nature. But! wanted it close to town so I do not have to travel far and still be close to the city attractions.
AC and Heat are in the Lodge
The lodge backs up to a large hill--called the Loess Hills. Many deer, raccoon, possum and turkey call it home and so does a few pets of mine to include a mini schwazer and two goats. They just love being adorned by new people. I think you will find this a perfect place for a good nights sleep.

You will have private access to the tiny home property from the alley behind the main little brick home. The parking lot can fit up to 2 compact cars along with free street parking. The property is completely fenced off with exception of the driveway.
*This tiny home is located on the same property as the main little brick house but only accessible via the alley. Please do not disturb guests at the main house address that is 6227 Parker St.
Other things to note
Although the unit has a bath tub, the water heater is a limited size and not designed to fill the tub with hot water. This water heater will only support quick showers. I recommend spacing out quick showers for multiple guests.
To add, the fixtures on the tub are just for design. They do not operate. The fixtures for the shower head bucket are located directly above the bath fixtures located on the wall. They can sometimes be hidden by shower curtain.
This is a low flow system that pours out of a bucket. It’s a relaxing old fashioned way of showering. Please do not have expectations of a high pressure shower head you may be accustomed.

EXTREMELY attentive, communicative, and kind hosts! Electric and water available. Basically, you'll back into one of the driveway spaces near thier garage to connect. The very unique silo swings, sitting area, fire pit, etc, are only steps from your door. The property is located just outside of town. Enough to provide the privacy and beauty of nature but close enough to get supplies within minutes. Unfortunately, the night I chose to book, the area experienced exceptionally high winds and I was unable to take advantage of the cool amenities provided. I barely slept due to my campervan rocking like I've never experienced before (obviously, no fault of the hosts). This was my very first stay using the Hipcamp app and oh boy, do I wish I'd have come across it sooner on my travels! I would highly recommend this spot, especially to families with small children, due to the reasonable rates and unique accommodations. Thank you!

I stayed at the Fence Post in October, after water was shut off for the winter. HOWEVER, when I made the reservation, the host was very quick to tell me this… so I was prepared! Kathy was great about giving instructions to get to the spot (make sure you don’t come in too close to the building!), and how to leave if backing up was a problem. The area behind me was very spacious so it was “easy” to back out and drive out! ( I say “easy,” because I’m new at travel trailering and backing up isn’t ever really easy for me - yet!!). I was very pleased with how level it was - from a picture I had seen, I didn’t expect that! Woo hoo! Lots of green space available to walk the dogs. This was a one-night stay - just passing through. I noted that others discussed traffic noise. It is true, it is not too far off the road BUT, I didn’t hear a thing (& I didn’t have tv or music on!!)! I am happy to recommend it to other hipcampers! Thanks Kathy… and I hope you have a great winter!

A hidden gem! The sweetest couple welcomed us with open arms. We were the only guests, so we had our own private oasis. Full hookups, bathrooms, laundry, wifi, grill, and the cutest “grain-zebo”. They even assisted us in filling up a flat tire. Would highly recommended!

Wonderful little spot away from the busy highway, but close enough to hop right back on when you’re ready to go.
Kelly and Jenices’s land was beautiful and they were wonderful hosts! They were very accommodating and had everything we needed and more! We made use of the large yard to play frisbee with our dog and the silo gazebo to relax on a beautiful day!

This was a really cool find! You would never think you would be right in town by pictures. When you go to the restroom you’ll get greeted with the sweetest dog!:) there is so many cool things to look at in the yard and cabin!
One thing I would tell future campers is if you want to use a blanket be sure to bring one. There was one on the main bed but only big enough for one person. I didn’t ask if there were any extras tho.

We had an amazing stay here! The hosts are so kind and accommodating and great with communication. This is probably one of the best hipcamp experiences we have had, and we have stayed at several across the country. The property is plenty spacious, with all of the amenities you could need, including a unique gazebo area that was custom built by the owner. If we are ever in the area in the future, we would definitely stay here again. 10/ 10 recommend!

Best way I can sum up Robs property is that it's just like camping, except there is a bed, air conditioning, and heat provided. Rob has set the cabin up very well, and there is a small table with chairs and some books and games if interested.
My partner and I like to tent camp, but when it's too hot or cold for us, we find simple cabins that provide a space to cool off or warm up but still space to cook outside and live "simply" Robs property gave us the perfect chance for that.
As a warning to others though, that maybe wouldn't bring a car full of camping supplies to stay, the cabin does not come equipped with cooking supplies, plates, cups, etc. There are restaurants close by, but If you're looking to just relax and stay in, you'll have to be prepared or plan to door dash food.
The space is cozy and feels extremely private, even though it's at the end of Robs property. It feels like you're away from the city. The bathroom is accessible through the garage, and is apart of the main house. It is clean, and Rob even put towels out for us. The large sink in the restroom was a great place to do dishes. While the site description includes water and a picnic table, there was not a picnic table, and the water is from the houe (you have to locate it, it's not right near the cabin)
This is a hipcamp listing, not a 5 star Airbnb. If you are searching for a 5 star BnB, this ain't it. But a great hipcamp? Absolutely!

Weekend Trip to Arrowtree Campgrounds
We loved tenting on Mike's land. He gave us very clear cut directions. The sites had plenty of space. It was a last minute trip for us, but Mike had everything ready to go for us earlier than expected and invited us to come sooner. It was a much needed retreat for my girlfriend and I and we are extremely excited to go back very soon.
