Shepherd’s Rest is a non profit goat and sheep rescue located on 13 acres of land adjacent to the scenic Indian Creek. In addition to the rescue goats and sheep on property, we have abundant wildlife including deer, turkey, quail and red Fox. The camping area is private and cannot be seen from the house or road. The property, purchased in 2016 from hoarders, has been gradually improved by the owners, who are proud of their progress. The front area includes their home, garden (guests can take produce), and a shop for their turf business. Chickens roam freely near the host house, so pets should be monitored. There are also calm honeybees on site. Hipcamp sites are located at the back, along with a pond for swimming and fishing. From May to September, guests can use beach toys, a paddle board, kayak, and paddle boat. Hammocks and a large playground are also available for guests to enjoy.

DO NOT DRIVE THRU CAMPGROUND My ONE and ONLY Hipcamp site is locate right at the entrance of this small property. All campers must be 35 feet or less in length and given the small size of the campground it's easiest if you arrive before dark. The entrance is on a curve so make sure you enter from the left hand side of the road and don't be afraid to roll thru a little grass to make sure you have plenty of room. Make a hard hairpin turn to the right and your campsite is straight ahead and like everything here, a pull-thru site. (Please see HIPCAMP main photo) This is a long-term campground but I keep this one spot up front for our traveling friends to enjoy as you move across the country as options can be limited. Enjoy your stay and if you're ever unsure about anything just give me a ring. Please make sure to arrive before dark. Small campground and quiet community with minimal lighting can make for a challenging and sometimes disorienting arrival if not careful.

We enjoyed a quiet night in a beautiful country setting. The host Corey was very hospitable and welcoming. The site and grounds are very well kept. I’m glad we found this site passing through. I definitely recommend stopping in if you get the chance.

Overall it was a good experience. There was the river so close and a very secluded area. This was just a layover stop for 2 nights to recharge. One thing to note is the trains are loud that go through there, but I was too tired to care much

Site 1 - Picture taken in May. You can see this site has direct access to the pond. Please do not block the road. For RV campers - please do not block the road. There Is additional parking steps away from the site. Thanks!

Great site! We were just there for an overnight stop, but were pleasantly surprised that it was even nicer than the photos/description made it out to be. We were right on the pond, but surrounded by trees that made the spot seem very private and comfortable. Princess was a wonderful host and everything we needed was provided or available. There was more to explore around the area we didn't know about because we didn't look into it as much as we normally would since we were just passing though, but we wouldn't hesitate to come back, stay here again, and explore more!

Nice place, green and quiet for the most part, though there are nearby houses and you can hear their dogs and roosters. Fireflies put on quite a show once the sun goes down. There is a porta-potty on site and a nearby trail. Corey also reached out the day we were coming in, and was very responsive to questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Quiet peaceful site on a working farm with goats, right across from a very nice public trail leading to the river. Full hookup pull thru. Corey is very friendly and helpful, responding to text questions promptly and assisting us with getting into the site. He gave us two bars of homemade goat soap! Thanks, Corey!

Clear directions host greeted me right away. I camped with a tent for one night, grass area was too high, it rained a lot and I couldn’t keep my feet dried. Train goes by nearby and sounds the horn quite often. Bathroom is an outhouse and it appeared to be very full, so was the garbage . I can’t recommend this place. Sorry
