Home on the Range Campsite

2 sites · RVs, Tents20 acres · Clark Fork, ID
This area is a fabulous collision of cultures that gives a Rustic-Mountain-Beach-relaxed-adventure vibe! (say that 3 times fast!) This is evident even on our property, as historically, it has been a hippy gathering site, a logging area, and a cattle range! We bought it as our 'forever home' and are working to create a forested ranch retreat. The property is off grid and offers all the serenity and remote feeling of a National Forest, but has quick access to daytime fun relaxation at the beach. For those who love both land and water, it couldn't be a better combination!Learn more about this land:RUSTIC MOUNTAIN BEACH DREAM! Camp in mountain solitude with the lake and beach only a short drive away. Enjoy Scotchman's peak and mountain views, sightings of wildlife and horses, stargazing, forest trailheads just down the quiet road; all in a relaxed beachy atmosphere. Shopping, tourist attractions, and all that comes with an eclectic town are just an hour away in Sandpoint. However, a few excellent restaurants can be found in Clark Fork and Hope. Campsites are private and out of view of our off-grid home but just a quick walk away. And you just might enjoy adventure tales from us about riding our horses across America, or make memories when we take you in to pet our horses, collect chicken eggs...or share in whatever farm excitement is happening! A note for booking your best stay: Campsite 1 has the best views, but is best for tent camping or very short trailers. Campsite 2 is flatter and the better option for trailers, oversize tents, and larger groups.

You may wake up to our sheep munching grass beside your tent. National forest trails about 10 minutes away, lots of lakes, rivers, and other outdoor opportunities to enjoy.

Phoenix Rising Ranch

5 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents20 acres · Priest River, ID
This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is off-grid with an option to plugin if needed. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

A Place to Stay West Kootenai

1 site · RV, Tent3 acres · Rexford, MT
A Place to Stay was purchased by the Dessaint Kimura Family in November 2011 from Pastor Andy Yoder.  The home is often referred to by the community as "The Bishop's Place".   A Place to Stay is a get away from it all; unplug, unwind and reconnect with our children and ourselves kind of place!  In many big cities that just doesn't always seem possible.  In the West Kootenai it definitely is! A Place to Stay is simply that!   A welcome respite after a long day of travel.  By the time you get to the West Kootenai you will appreciate the fact that there is A Place to Stay.   A Place to Stay is a simple place to take a load off and nestle in for a day or two while you explore the vast, beautiful wilderness of Montana.   A Place to Stay was originally Amish Built by a growing Amish community in the late 90's.  You will see and experience some of the little things that are obviously Amish as you explore the property and surrounding areas.  We are nestled between the Montana Woodworks, the Amish School House and the Kootenai Kraft & Grocery.  You are remote and at the same time in the thick of town life.  One of my favorite things to see as I sit at my desk is a cowboy riding a horse while talking on his cell phone.  The vast, dark, starry nights are something to behold.   Enjoy your stay!  Learn more about this land:***Due to Covid we are only accepting reservations from people who have self-supporting campers with toilet/shower combos.  There is no access to the house at this time***Our little corner of the world is located in a remote corner of NW Montana just a couple of miles south of the Canadian Border.  We have 2.5 acres, nestled between the Amish School House, the Kootenai General Store and the Amish Woodworks shop.  The nights are incredibly starry - as if you are traveling through space and can reach out to touch the heavens.  Feel free to set up camp anyplace within the green grassy areas.  The horses in the pasture belong to the neighbors.  Please respect their wishes.  There is a fire pit out front as well as a hose and workshop. Hip Campers may use the bath and shower on the main level but please do not disturb the rest of the house as visitors may come and go at various times.   Hike up to Mt. Robson or go swimming in the KooCanUSA reservoir.  Although very few people live in the area, this is the hub of the village.   Being on the West Kootenai is like traveling back in time to the days of Little House on the Prairie.  Please consider leaving $20 on the table for the local neighbor ladies who will clean the bathroom and wash the towels after your visit.  Thank you!
