From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property. At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October). Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. We're Located in four corners across the street from Bozeman hot springs, our sheep camp is less that 200 yards from their front door. It is the closest of any vacation rental to them. The area is semi-rural with farms, neighborhoods and businesses. Big Sky resort is 42 miles, Bridger bowl is 26 miles. Bozeman is 7 miles. We're in rainbow subdivision. possibly Montana's oldest subdivision. We're on Lower Rainbow Road. In the summer we see some spectacular rainbows, many being double rainbows. Enjoy what this 1-bedroom modern range camp has to offer. Forced air gas heat, Indoor and outdoor kitchen, Two Queen beds, 3/4 bath. Clothes closet and drawers Pantry, Gas range and oven. convection oven and micro wave, Keurig coffee maker. Refrigerator/ freezer, Solo fire pit with Adirondak chairs, hard woods for cooking and softwoods for just gereral hanging around the camp fire, Treager smoker grill and a weber propane grill. If there are more than two people in this camp, it's a small space and you best be the courteous kind. This sheep camp is the real deal. It was made for people who work on the range. Cowboys, sheepherders and such. As such you will need to be a bit western in attitude to fully enjoy it. It is very efficient but a small space. It works fine as a place to stay especially for one or two people. The basic normal things are intuitive. But for using things like the outdoor kitchen, the range oven and awning you may need a quick lesson on how those work. We are happy to teach you. If you want the experience or ambience of using the woodstove then we absolutely require that we instruct you on how to use it first. Using it requires your attention. Before TV and other modern distractions, the fire was the center of our attention and social environment. Giving your stoves fire attention then was easy. It still requires your attention if you choose to use it here. You can't use the wood stove when it's warm out because it would get to hot in the camp. The fire pit is always allowed. This unique property provides guests with Wi-Fi, TV, Stereo an iron and ironing board, It has forced air gas heat for a comfortable stay. After your day of adventure, Take a soak in the hot springs, snuggle up in your nice comfortable bed and that's a very good day.

Tipi nested on 1/4 acre in the town of Gallatin Gateway/AKA Slabtown.. the tipi has a double bed and a love seat that folds down into a twin. There is also a outside kitchen, gazebo style. An outside shower with hot water and bathroom with hot running water with a compostable toilet. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay. We have some great attractions in walking distance. The Legendary “Stacy’s Old Faithful Inn”and now the music venue “The Westerner”. Also in walking distance, across the street from Stacy’s is “The Post Office Pizza”. A block from the tipi with easy access is the Gallatin River..

Spacious,clean,great views of the mountains.Also great amenities. The host husband and wife team were courteous, friendly, easy to talk to. I would recommend this place to family and friends.

Title says it all. I stayed here in the cabin as a solo traveler. There is enough room for 3-4 people comfortably in the cabin. After several weeks of travel it was nice to have a table, chairs, and easy access to the very clean bathroom and shower area which was nice and warm, even when the temperatures started to drop. Having a little shop located on site was very convenient, and I was pleasantly surprised at how developed Ennis, MT is. Try the restaurant next door, the Continental Divide. It was fantastic. This spot was a perfect jumping off point for trips into Yellowstone and Tetons. Thank you for a great stay, I would absolutely come back in the future.

1 night at The DET Place Hideaway

McKenzie was great. She was very quick to reply to questions and super accommodating. Our check in time changed a couple of times d/t unforeseen delays getting to Montana - but she was really easy to work with and understanding. The 5th wheel was great. Lots of space and well kept. Bedrooms were a nice surprise (bigger than appeared in the pics). Shower was hot and plenty large enough for me (6 ft and 245lbs) to clean up. Water and heat were included and welcome. The view of the mountains out of the camper door were a pleasant way to wake up and her property was secluded enough and well kept. Easy instructions and only about an hour north of Bozeman. Would def stay with her again if we made it back up this way.

Weekend Trip to The DET Place Hideaway

When I pulled up to Mackenzie‘s RV, I was a little dismayed to see it parked next to the house but then we met Mackenzie and changed our minds. She was lovely and the RV was so nice and comfortable. My kids loved it. We had a bonfire and walked around and saw the horses. It was a perfect place to stay. We spent time at Canyon ferry the Madison River. This spot OSS really a gem!

Such a great place, that we ended up extending our stay 4 more days! Host is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Great communication. Plenty of space for me and my 3 kiddos. And they loved getting to see the animals (horses, cows, deer and a couple cats). Will definitely be back again! 5 stars highly recommend.

1 night at Wildhorse

It doesn’t really feel like you’re camping since you’re right in a neighborhood but it was exactly what we needed - a safe, clean, affordable place close to the interstate to spend the night. The bus is very cute and cozy and the bed is comfy. The outhouse is clean. It was the perfect spot to play a game, have a bite to eat, and get some rest before heading out in the morning for a long drive home. Emily is super welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Weekend Trip to Wildhorse

This is a fun way to rough it close to town without an enormous price tag. You must be willing to take a tiny trek to the ports-toilet, but the bed was comfortable. No one bothered us. Animals were adorable and not bothersome whatsoever. The real plus was the weather was very hot and the little portable air conditioner worked wonderfully to keep us comfortable and able to sleep well through the heat. Is it the Taj Mahal? Nope, but pretty darn close tho….. I enjoyed my stay very much.

This was such a comfortable and convenient stay for me! My arrival was delayed and even though I hadn’t arranged a late check in ahead of time (whoops!), I was able to call the after-hours number to be let in to the cabin. I was incredibly grateful and they were so kind about it! The bed was super comfy and the bathrooms were close by and immaculate. The mini fridge and AC unit were nice perks! I will definitely stay again if I’m passing through the area again. Thanks again!
