Great cell service and private property on both sides, easy access to campsite. 10-minute drive to historic Grant Kohrs Ranch, old prison museum and many other unique Montana experiences.

Larry’s property was a great space for us. He was very responsive, friendly, and helpful. Our dogs were able to run around and the area was very safe. We will definitely come again next year once springtime arrives!

The tent was amazing! It was the perfect mix of wilderness and comfort. I had my 4 yr old daughter and we had a blast. Endless rocks and boulders to climb on and plenty of privacy. We heard an elk bugling on the second the morning as well, creating quite the experience.
We also took a quick drive to the Hardware Cafe just a few miles down the road for some comfort food.
We will definitely be staying again next year!

Weekend Trip to The Homestead
We wanted to go somewhere, but had to be super close to home. Enter an Elkhorn Mountain adventure, just 20 minutes from our door in Helena, down the highway to Clancy to the Homestead Camp.
We love camping ⛺️ and yet I didn’t feel up to all of the work required. And I’m really very extremely tired and wanted to sleep well.
I found this gorgeous getaway on Hip-camp and with the hard work done, all I had to do was eat, drink, read, and sleep. And boy, did I sleep! Multiple times a day even!
We watched clouds rolls by until the sky darkened and it was the stars’ turn. ✨ We fell asleep to rain drops kissing the canvas and woke to the rattle of thunder of deep in the mountains. ⛰️

What a great hipcamp spot. Stayed there twice on a cross country trip. Larry is a friendly, warm and welcoming host. Great quiet spot surrounded by foothills and pretty views. On the return trip, his young daughter walked over, introduced herself and we had a great chat. When she left, she handed us a wonderful gift, a bag of Huckleberry taffy! Will definitely visit again!

Tent camping on this pasture was GORGEOUS. The host was incredibly kind, communicative, and flexible. Our prior site fell through last minute and the host approved us staying within a few moments. Host is very transparent about amenities and GPS navigation. Would stay again!

Private, close to great fly fishing and Missoula. The meadow was super peaceful and the spot was nice. Our dogs loved being able to roam free around the area. Larry was very nice and gave good recommendations on things to do in the area and where to fish. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Larry is a fantastic host. He personally welcomed us and assisted us in getting situated. He went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of and even gave me a call in the evening to let me know of an approaching storm (in case we were inside and would miss out on the lightning show).

Absolutely loved this campsite! It really couldn't be a more perfect set-up with all necessities, hiking trails near campsites, private yet easy to access and a short drive to Helena, plus a great spot to stay with pets! Such a beautiful location & the sunsets in the evening are 5 star rating, if you're looking for a place to relax and unwind it doesn't get any better than this. I would definitely stay again and I would recommend Jamie's campsite to anyone looking a place to stay in the area.

It was easy to find, enjoyed the privacy and trees on the site. We were close to the kettlehouse amphitheater which was great. It was 95 out and they were helpful, suggesting a little swimming hole close to their property.

1 night at The Homestead
We loved our stay at the Casey tent! Super cute and unique stay. The land it is on is beautiful and it is not far from Helena which was nice. We stayed one night but wish it was a couple more. I will say, don’t take the warning for the two track road lightly. Our minivan didn’t make it the whole one mile to the tent (we didn’t know what to expect for the drive on the property)

This spot was ideal for taking a break from our drive. It was very convenient to get there from I-90. The camping spot was easy to access towing our 27 ft. Airstream as were the hook ups. The location is on a big plot of land partway up a hill the view was of a meadow and hills in the distance. Larry was helpful and available for questions. And to cap it off, we were greeted by a friendly young girl with huckleberry taffy.

Amazing site and host! We stayed two days/nights and Larry was the most wonderful host - he went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable with so many suggestions for sites to see that weren’t in any brochures.
Tons and tons of room for dogs to roam off-leash - just absolutely beautiful!! Would (and definitely will) stay again!!
