This 53 acres use to be owned by a guy named John Helberg which is who the road is named after. It’s the original homestead land dated over 100 years ago where they farmed for there dairy cows and other livestock.
This is right off a dead end road. You will have a view of a Montana farm field with the Rocky Mountains in the background. Dark nights out of the town means the stars will be out and about! This is a quiet secluded area there is a house near by, he is an older gentlemen you won’t even know he’s there.
Depending on time of year there will be a field full of crop or the farm getting farmed. There very well could be some horses near by to pet!! Located 10 minutes from the lakes. 5 minutes from a reservoir. 10 minutes from town. 15 min to closest hiking areas. Helena really is the heart of fun very centralized for all directions of fun! Very easy pull in and pull out area. Please not there may be other campers enjoying as well

Jamie's land was perfect for our last camping trip of the season. The spot is beautiful and so peaceful. It is close enough to downtown to be convenient, yet feels like you are out in the country. Jamie was super helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back next time we are in Helena.

Lovely quiet spot. We had our dog so we took several walks - on the Host's land and along the quiet gravel road. Easy to find a flat spot to park. We had a great chat with the Host, who was quite helpful.

Appreciated the power hookup.
Was close to the road to the lake and there was a fair amount of traffic heading that way. Down by the lake was a dump station ($5). Also only 15 minutes to Helena. There is no water and the RV spot is not level but workable. besides a tiny rental home you get it to yourself. Oh but there is a trail cam on the tree by the RV spot so no peeing on his trees. Clean and quiet. Close to Ringing Rocks and tons of ATV trails. No hookups but water is available at a spigot. Sites are graveled and have a picnic table, a couple of chairs and a fire pit. Watch out for catus if you get off the established roads and gravel pads. We camped there on 8/6/2025 with a 30-foot 5th wheel. Rigs of any size are OK. Most sites are back-in, but a couple of sites are pull through. Don't be surprised when you see the extra cost for the HipCamp fees.

The site was a simple water and electric site, just as pictured. The site is really close to the dam and state park, and it has a nice partial view into the valley. It is also quiet and private, though there is a tiny cabin on the property that may be occupied during your stay.

Perfect place to set up camp and relax when exploring Butte and Anaconda, very quite and beautiful mountain views. We were given a tour of the old town on arrival. Enjoyed learning about each building and it's history. As a Yellowstone 1923 fan we loved seeing the post office from seen 5 shot on site at Gunslinger Ranch. We did not cause a raucous but some how we end up in JAIL! No really...Camping showers were being repaired and Karen offered us to take a showers in the Jail. I would recommend the jail for an accommodation. What a cool space!

Absolutely the loveliest people to host you and even more beautiful spot in the south mountains! We could not believe how beautiful and accommodating it was! Highly recommend this for a camper who doesn’t need too many facilities! We have a travel trailer with solar so we stayed for 3 days and loved it. Our kids played all over the hills and we walked the trails with our dog. It was fantastic and so close to downtown too!

This was a really nice spot to camp in our van for a couple of days. It was so incredibly quiet at night, and in morning and evening it was fun to walk out pup up the old west street, looking at the cool old buildings, and visit the goats and horses up the way. Our host met us when we arrived and was very welcoming. You can tell this place is a work in progress but that it's a labor of love - we got to peek in one of the empty units and it was really nicely done inside but still completely rustic and authentic feeling - loved the high ceilings and clawfoot tub. We would definitely stay again.

This property is a hidden gem . The space is private with flat spots in the sun or shade depending on your preference. We are not bikers but took advantage of the amazing trails for a hike just minutes down the road . Downtown Helena is minutes away and a great community to explore . Highly recommend this camp! Jamie was an awesome host!
Side note for RVs that there is free and convenient dump at town pump near Lowe’s

This is a great quiet spot to stay. It's just off a dirt road with very little traffic. There are beautiful pines and none of the sounds of the city. Greg was very accommodating. We would stay again without question!
