If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. The sunsets are typically spectacular while enjoying the views and solitude. Book for a time of full moon and with a clear sky a moonlight ski or walk is amazing. From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property. At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October). Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. Areas above the cabin are for non-motorized use only.

Weekend Trip to Paradise Awaits

We really enjoyed our time on this property. It is a true taste of off grid living. It is not an in town rental, but instead your experience will be far from town with the comforts you still enjoy. Elk will keep you company when you wake up in the morning. The bathroom has a unique experience that just has to be seen to understand that is very enjoyable. The host provides a very hospitable experience. I would highly recommend and also recommend enjoying all the back roads that are accessible from this cabin.

We loved our time at Pamela’s property. The cabin was quaint and comfortable. The property provided for some neat activities for my kids. They loved the music room and just getting to hang out. We only needed one night for a baseball tournament in Helena but would definitely want to go back again and have more time around the fire.

This was such a wonderful get away! We stayed here after our Yellowstone adventure on the way to Glacier National Park. Pam was so accommodating and her property is lovely. The soaking tubs outside at sunset were so cool and all the outside activities were a great addition. Will definitely have to come back for a longer stay. You could have your entire own wellness retreat here. Make sure to drink the glacier water for the well! It was the best water I've ever had.

Such an adorable place! Rarely do I find sites that are so kid friendly and even rarer mid AND dog friendly. Only problem that we had was it was HOT in the cabin at night after a full day, but our host was so helpful and brought us a box fan to cool it off quicker. The hosts were so kind and we really had a wonderful stay.

What a beautiful, peaceful place with a very accommodating host. The cabin and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. There was lots to do and I had a great time with my son. 2 nights at Relax Inn Montana

Beautiful campsite! The directions provided were clear and the place was easy to find. We stayed in the two bears cabin and it had enough space for the three of us to be comfortable. Pamela's place has so many fun amenities! We played with the board games available in the cabin. We also played horseshoe and used the meditation room which was lovely! 😊 There are other things to do like lasso and cornhole. Pamela also recommended some fun experiences nearby which we always appreciate! Overall, it was a lovely stay and if we lived closer we would come by often!

Pam has created the most comfortable and peaceful space! I wish we had stayed longer. The beds and cabins were cozy and there were so many outdoor spaces to relax and enjoy. Will definitely stay here again next time we are passing through or in the area.

1 night at Boulder Creek Lodge

We rolled the dice on this Hipcamp gem and hit the jackpot! Originally planned for one night, but after experiencing night one, extending was a no-brainer. Doug, the host, is seriously the best – super friendly and genuinely helpful. The whole place is incredibly well-maintained; even the bathrooms feel like they belong in a fancy hotel. Our "converted chapel" stay was a highlight, with a stunning stained glass window painting the room with light. You've also got a top-notch community kitchen (restaurant-grade stove, anyone?), a rad games room, and the river literally bubbling right outside, loud enough to be your personal soundtrack. Don't sleep on this one!

Weekend Trip to Date Street Cabin @ C Lazy M Meadow

We loved everything about Date Street cabin. The location was a perfect spot for our Helena adventure. Beautiful little hollow and well appointed cabin. We loved our evening fire and the cool breeze while watching the deer play. We will be back!
