Our family built a cabin in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the 1970’s. We’ve been coming out for over 20 years to visit and now are making this our home. One thing about this area that really strikes me is the gorgeous Ear Mountain. It hovers with the rest of the Rocky Mountain Front making a beautiful back drop for the quaint town of Choteau.
We are located 90 miles from St. Mary’s in Glacier park. If you are looking to go to Glacier we are an excellent spot to stay and rest on your journey.
The town of Choteau has several restaurants, gas stations with propane, a drug store and Rex’s grocery. If you feel like walking downtown, you’ll see the historic buildings like the Courthouse built in 1906.

Elicia and her family were wonderful and very welcoming! My two young sons (2 & 4) and I were passing through while on an extended road trip just after my husband deployed. An exceptional place to set up camp. The campsite, both tent and A frame, sit in a small valley between two mountain sides. You get excellent views all around, there was no pest bugs like mosquitoes, and there is plenty of opportunity for hiking on the property, though trails are still a work in progress. The bathroom and shower are clean, and Kate and Ben were excellent hosts. No signal, but that can be a bonus depending on how you look at it. Overall, sincerely recommend giving this campsite a stay

Such a special place! Conveniently accessed from the highway but still feels quiet and secluded. The surrounding hills make for a beautiful morning hike and the hot shower was a luxurious bonus. We will definitely camp out again next time we're passing through.

We had an amazing five star stay at Untouchable Hip Camp. This is a must stay location located in a small community surrounded by breath taking views in every direction. Bald Eagles fishing the Missouri River competing with the daily fly fishermen. Nightly visits of a doe and her babies roam freely in this little neighborhood. The Hip Camp Host can answer any question about the area and was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t make the time to float the Missouri River, but we definitely will be back next year for a longer stay.

Pretty happy I got to experience this spot before it’s booked solid! Really exceptional property and a great campsite. I did not stay in the A-frame but it looked well worth the price. Tucked in a really nice valley with some thoughtful amenities like the shower and outhouse. There is a highway nearby so you’ll hear the occasional truck, but other than that, was extremely private and quiet. Kate was super hospitable and communicative. Will definitely be back here if I get the chance.

Elicia made me feel right at home. The camp is in historic Fort Shaw. The fort is in walking distance as is the military cemetery. Beautiful countryside and the Sun River is close by. Right down the road is Big Sky Deli in Vaughn with all kinds of meats, cheeses, pastries, kombucha and provisions. I love the sounds of the farm animals and so did my pooch! :) I would definitely stay here again!
