Tired of camping next to people? With 60 acres for your enjoyment and gated entrance, you won’t see anyone else during your whole stay! 15 min from I-49 with Walmarts and gas stations even nearer keeps you close to town. You can choose from multiple campsites, but we will not book anyone else during your stay.
Camp right next to the Illinois River under giant oaks, ash trees, and sycamores with a waterfall behind you and the river in front. Or move up the hill and enjoy the 10 mile view (when leaves are dropped) while watching the sunset. Seriously, it’s the best view west of Fayetteville. The deep shade of the campsite with the breeze coming over river keeps the space surprisingly cool even in extreme heat. Feeling fun? Camp in the old dirt mine with 10’ walls around you shaded by a massive pine growing in the center and oaks around the perimeter.
Hiking trails have been cut for you to enjoy the property. Make sure to check out “Mini Hawksbill Crag”- a rocky outcropping hanging off the cliff side. Another fun trail leads you up a creek bed with multiple small waterfalls.
A couple canoes and kayaks are available to float the river if you desire as an add on. You can go upstream easily in normal water flow!
If you’re looking for fun family time with your kids, I will do whatever I can to help you during your stay to make lasting memories. We’re big believers in families enjoying the outdoors together!
A truck can be driven to riverside campsite when dry or there is a 100 yard walk from a small parking area. More vehicles can be parked on top of hill which is 5 minute walk.
There is a picnic table and fire pit at the riverside campsite. Bald Eagles are seen most days in the winter. Birders will also appreciate the feeder in the campsite.
Fishing poles are available as an add on. You can bring your own too! Catch small mouth, large mouth, bream, crappie, catfish, gar, and carp/buffalo, but you’re competing with the neighborhood beaver so be on the lookout for him! Please release small mouth besides a legal keeper is 14" (6-7 year old fish!) and limit of 2.
Rear wheeled drive vehicles should park at the parking area by old stable
Absolutely no hunting wildlife or foraging mushrooms without prior approval.

It’s awesome here when the dogwood and redbuds bloom in the spring, and when the leaves change color in the fall. The St. Francis National Forest is more diverse, with the St. Francis and Mississippi Rivers running through it, as well as lakes, valleys, and tons of wildlife. It’s the only place in the national forest system where you can access the Mississippi River from the shore, so that right there is a must do! Weekend Trip to Illinois River Paradise | 60 Acres
We had an amazing experience at Hipcamp. The property is absolutely beautiful, spread across roughly 60 acres of peaceful land that truly allows you to unplug and reconnect with nature. During our stay, we didn’t see any other campsites, which made the experience feel completely private and incredibly relaxing—exactly what we were hoping for.
The setting is quiet, scenic, and thoughtfully arranged, creating a sense of seclusion that’s hard to find. Even though we were only able to stay for one day, it was clear this is a special place meant for slowing down, exploring, and enjoying uninterrupted time outdoors. Everything felt comfortable and intentional, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the surroundings.
We would absolutely recommend staying at least two days to fully soak in everything this property has to offer, as one day simply wasn’t enough. This is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for peaceful, private camping, and we would happily return.

My new favorite hipcamp! A wonderfully kept site with many amenities. (chairs, lights, picnic tables, established fire pit, and chiminea), a short private hiking trail, and river accesses. I can't wait to come back in the spring and summer and shuttle our kayaks!

We had a great time camping with my 3 dogs and my cat! It was sunny the first day and it was wonderful exploring the river with all my animals. Very secluded and private and we didn’t see anyone during our 3 day stay. It did rain A LOT towards the end which made it super muddy and a little hard to get out when we were leaving, but we still had a blast!

Beautiful scenery in NW Arkansas. Tyler's property is close to any amenity you will ever need, but far enough to feel secluded. Be prepared for a hike if it has rained, but nonetheless a beautiful setup for camping.
We had three families for our trip. Each family had 3 children ages 2-8 years old. Even with the river high from recent storms, we felt safe with our kids there and near the water. We "fished" all day, went on multiple hikes, and enjoyed family dinners together around the fire.
Our kids were filthy and stinky and had a wonderful time. Thanks to Tyler for sharing his property with us.

I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve camped here. It’s our favorite spot anywhere around in AR or OK. The river is right there, the campsite is completely shaded. Plenty of spots to hang a hammock. It’ll blow your dogs mind having all that space to themselves. Book the place, you won’t regret it.

This site was awesome! Great for small or larger groups. Lots of room for tents, Super close to the river, and the site itself is very shaded which was a blessing. The drive in wasn’t too bad if u have a 4x4. We didn’t see anyone else on the river, it was very peaceful. The water was super refreshing and there are some real nice swimming spots. The fishing was great too. Caught a lot of smallmouth, largemouth, bluegill varieties, gar, and some Buffalo fish. There’s a Dollar General 10 minutes away if you forget any basics. 10/10 would definitely return. Tyler was very accommodating and he’s got some great extras that made the trip run even smoother!

This place is a true hidden gem. My son and I embark on an annual camping trip, and we’ve found our ideal retreat to revisit for years to come. Tyler and his boys went above and beyond to ensure the property was perfectly prepared for our arrival. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, swimming, exploring, hiking, and eating way too many s'mores around memorable campfires. As someone who prefers solitude over crowded campgrounds, I appreciated the seclusion this location offered, providing the perfect escape for a few days. Highly recommend—10/10.

Incredible trip! Tyler provided excellent directions, and we found the site with no issues. He was extremely responsive and even left us a few extras because of the muddy road. The campsite was cleared and well maintained, with a fire pit, lounge chairs and two picnic tables. It was completely shaded (SO NICE) and right on the river. There is also a set of lounge chairs and small chimney in the perfect spot for watching the kids and sunsets, overlooking the water. The river itself was also amazing! We only swam and floated on tubes but it was super relaxing and my kiddo loved it. We also brought our dogs and they had an excellent time running and swimming off-leash. The bugs and ticks were minimal (did we get lucky? lol) and Tyler offered suggestions to mitigate. We had a few (of our own) obstacles when packing up and Tyler was extremely accommodating and understanding. Overall I would say this trip was 10/10. Would highly recommend. THANK YOU, TYLER!!?

This is a magical place. All of the creatures, the water, trees and so much space. I took 10 people here and we had a blast. Close to town, there is a lake loop trail 5 mins away, and the waterfall by camp made for a peaceful retreat. The baby geese came on land to eat worms, the birds sang to us and are so curious. Tyler is a great guy and will go out of his way to serve. I’ll be back for sure.

I hesitate to right a review (out of selfishness) because this is our ALL TIME favorite getaway…but I just have to share the love. I highly recommend Tyler’s campsite for anyone wanting to get away from the noise of NWA. While only 10-15 minutes from town, this place makes you feel like you’re way out in the sticks! The river is peaceful and serene and offers some great fishing. The campsite provides a fire pit, chairs, picnic tables, and multiple flat areas for pitching a tent. Tyler is extremely accommodating and responsive. He has always gone out of his way to ensure a perfect stay. As always, 10/10!

Where to go
Joplin, Missouri
You might know of Joplin from Nat King Cole’s classic “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66.” Once a stop on the famed highway, today, Joplin is a small town on the rise, recovering from a devastating tornado. Travelers can check out picturesque Grand Falls, the Wildcat Glades natural area, and sites from the Route 66 heyday. Several private RV parks in Joplin and nearby Carthage provide amenities, but public parks are hard to find without venturing out of town.
Northwest Arkansas
Another hub of activity near Pineville is found in Northwest Arkansas, where the tri-cities of Rogers, Bentonville, and Fayetteville converge. The Ozarks hills are home to a mountain biking scene that’s gaining national attention, as is the renowned Crystal Bridges of American Art. Private RV parks are scattered across the metros, with scenic public campgrounds found at nearby Devil’s Den State Park and Beaver Lake.

The waters are a refreshing break from the heat and humidity of the season. Spring and fall are pleasant, with moderate temperatures and scenic landscapes.
