This land has been asking to be shared. First it was swings and little things for the grandchildren and their friends. Then the Cabin by the pond began to welcome visitors. Soon the steep slope anchored a Yurt with a wrap-around deck that puts you up in the trees. Our gathering spot by the creek became a camp site. Recently the grandkids' Bunk House found its way in. Our Retreat is 10 acres, narrow, but 1/4 mile deep, stretching down a steep wooded slope to a creek - and up the other side to the top of a bluff. It is only ten miles to Jefferson City but has a quiet and distant feel.

Our 24’ yurt that sleeps up to 6 with indoor toilet (no shower) propane fireplace for chilly fall and winter stays and AC for the Missouri heat; a cozy RV that sleeps 4 (queen bed and bunks in the back) offers all the amenities of home with a kitchen and bathroom (with hot water and shower); and last we have a level gravel site with 30amp electric and water hook ups (no dump capability) with picnic table, fire pit and grill available for those that want to bring their own RV. We are Pet friendly (with additional cost for the yurt) as we have our own over friendly farm dog. Come play yard games, swing, fish, bring your kayak or paddle board, kids can play or swim on our sandy beach, or just walk our 1 mile perimeter trail, a perfect place to rest, rejuvenate and recharge. Less than 20 minutes away from I-70, just over 30 minutes from Columbia, MO. Clean, well stocked, and private. Exactly what we needed to get away from this realtor’s crazy work life. Location is spot on for spending the day in nearby cities and enjoying quiet evenings in. The perfect solution to those who would prefer an upscale feel in a perceived camping environment. The only thing we would change would be sturdier chairs around the camp fire. Although, we did have a good laugh.

Wonderful experience!! Truly enjoyed the Yurt and its wrap around deck overlooking the heavily forested floor as well as appreciated the host’s low key, welcoming hospitality. Upon meeting Bill he handed out some treats to feed the turtles and fish in a lovely little pond on the property. Highly recommend this Hipcamp!!

After a very long drive this was exactly what my family needed. Anything you can think of was provided. Warm water, a bathroom, potable water, microwave, kerig, TV and air conditioning. We were greeted by the owners and they even offered us eggs. We only stayed one night, wish we could’ve stayed longer.

This trip couldn’t have been any better. Wendy has thought of absolutely everything inside the cabin and the land outside is incredible. So many extras: hot tub, games, beautiful sitting areas inside and out, walking trail, and more. The picture window in the cabin defies description. We had a perfect week. I cannot recommend this place enough!! We’ll be back.

This cabin hidden in the hills of Missouri was a most excellent stay! Host was working in the yard when I arrived. Greeted me with all kindness. Explained the cabin layout, parking, etc. & the whole weekend was splendid! Had the cabin all to myself & that downstairs bed sucked me in. I could have did more for the weekend in & around the area but I actually enjoyed much peaceful rest more than anything. The host was excellent, the cabin was clean, just as pictured and well enjoyed. Host provided any & everything I may have needed. Definitely, I find myself back in the area, I’ll try & book this stay again. In the quiet country, near the Missouri River, tons of hiking/kayaking in & around, State Parks & trails. Only 35 minutes from the great college town of Columbia, GO TIGERS! Plenty of room for 3/4 residents in this small, quaint, quiet, country cabin! Loved it! :-)
