Spanning over 160,000 acres with 2,300 miles of stunning shoreline, Kentucky Lake is a top destination for boating and fishing. The lake is well known for its abundance of largemouth and smallmouth bass, catfish, bluegill, white bass, and more.
The community features a private boat launch and dock, with boat storage included in your stay. Whether you prefer to fish, kayak, paddleboard, or simply enjoy the views, you can do it all right from your site or from the nearby community water access area.
Several of our sites are situated along a 4-mile-long, tree-lined cove — calm, scenic, and directly connected to the lake — making it the perfect spot for peaceful mornings and sunset paddles.

Love this spot! I almost cried this morning while we were packing up. It was clean, spacious and very quiet. We spent out days watching the cranes and fish and waving at others while on their morning or late afternoon walk. We will absolutely 💯 be back. Lori was an awesome host! Thank you so much for sharing heaven with us!

We spent two wonderful nights at Sharla’s hip camp. The creeks are fun, the view of the sky is beautiful, the entire experience is perfect. Sharla is a fantastic host and communicates so well. I hope to come back and definitely recommend:)

My fiancé and I spent a weekend at this campsite in late summer, and it was absolutely magical. It gets very hot, so be sure to bring a canopy for shade or plan to spend most of your time relaxing in the creek, which we happily did.
The location was beautiful and easy to find, and the owner made us feel welcome right away. We set up in the open field so we could enjoy prime stargazing, and it turned out to be the perfect spot. The night sky was incredible.
The real highlight was the creek. It was refreshing, freeing, and so much fun for both us and our dogs. I highly recommend walking upstream behind the campsite until you reach a cliff area with a stunning waterfall. Just make sure to wear good water shoes, as it can get slippery.
A 100 out of 10 stay. We will definitely be coming back!

First booking on Hipcamp and wow did I find an amazing place! Sharla, Garrett and kids are the most precious family and awesome host! My site was right where 2 creeks join and having the babbling water sing me to sleep each night was amazing. Very secluded place with open skies, no lights and very little road noise. If you love exploring creeks or just forest bathing- this is a perfect spot to do it! My 2 pups were able to be off leash almost the entire time and that is so rare to find. Our favorite spot was where the 2 creeks merge. I had a spiritual moment there. The water temp is about 15-20• cooler in one verses the other. I found a flat rock and sat in the creeks allowing one side of my body to be in the cooler water and the other in the warmer- I can’t describe the feeling I experienced, but I certainly felt some cleansing/healing energy work being performed by Mother Nature. I found myself briefly sobbing and then felt my body just let it all go- shoulders relaxed, my spine felt like it was being rung out like a dirty mop. Nuts it may seem- but I walked away from this trip feeling more whole than I have in a long time. The place is magical.
Cell service was in and out which I enjoyed. It’s advertised as a “short walk” in and it’s literally steps away. I’m a heavy packer so I was concerned, but felt like an idiot when I arrived. 😂 Single female and felt completely safe.
Sharla’s Rosemary focaccia was a great addition.
Book it now! We will def be returning!

This land was absolutely gorgeous. The creek is clear and cold. Our kids loved wading in the water and finding small fish. The camping area is huge with a ton of options for set up. We pull a utility trailer with a large SUV and tent camp and had lots of space left. Hosts were more than accommodating when we had to leave mid-trip due to my daughter falling ill. Would highly recommend this spot. We hope to return.

Mavericks Moonshine was the perfect location for us. Plenty of room for our 40' camper, truck and pontoon trailer. Great location on the water so we could just ite the boat off at night. We will definitely be back

I loved this place! Gravel pad, full hookups, WiFi, beautiful firepit and on the water! It was also very quiet and our neighbors were friendly. 15-20 minutes to town, fun hanging out at Clifton marina bar and grill! We will be back! Our host was very friendly and responsive as well!

Had a great stay at Lori‘s property! Plenty of space between sites, Direct water access which was great for kayaks and floats. Easy site to back into and hook up. Was concerned about how much gravel there was and how comfortable that would be, but it is very Fine gravel it was very comfortable under our outdoor rugs. Lori was extremely responsive and was a big help when we had to reschedule due to health issues. Definitely recommend!
