We had a lovely time. The dome is a really relaxing retreat with a beautiful view of Big Bay and Lake Superior. There is everything you need for a nice getaway. We had a fire in the wood stove both nights to take the chill out of the air and slept soundly in the comfortable bed.

We loved staying at the GeoDome! It was such a peaceful getaway. It was a good location to stay while exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. We didn't see anyone the whole time, just heard a couple of cars on road below the mountain (meaning it's very secluded!) The bed was sooo comfy and there was a ton of fire wood! We will definitely be back!

This place was amazing! The ambiance was dreamy and the views were stunning. We didn't even have great weather, so it could only get better. I wasn't sure what to expect as far as supplies, but there was more than I thought, which made it all the more accommodating and cozy. We will absolutely come back if we're in the area.

Everything about the stay here was amazing. Not only the dome itself but vibe they have created there was such a welcoming and peaceful experience. The views going to bed and waking up in the morning from the front of the dome were breathtaking. The communication and hospitality from the host were great and highly appreciated.

This was an amazing experience! If you are looking for a place to go to detach this is the place! Loved how secluded it was. This was a solo trip for me and a much needed get away from the business of my everyday. I got to explore such a beautiful part of the Michigan UP and come back to this place to fall asleep looking at the stars! Will definitely be a repeat guest!

We stayed in 3 different places this trip, and this was by far our favorite! The dome is so cozy, the furniture is so thoughtful, and the vibes are so good! The bed was our favorite bed out of all of our stays, too! Super comfortable!! They have a great swinging bench by the fire pit and that is where we spent most of our evenings, overlooking Lake Independence & Lake Superior. We were lucky enough to be able to watch and fall asleep to a couple thunderstorms during this trip & the dome made that experience even better for us! (We love storms!) Highly recommend this spot, I don't normally post reviews, but the energy of this place still has me buzzing. Cannot wait to return, maybe for fall!! This place was amazing! We loved the geodome and it's views are amazing!!!
The location is great with access to a beach on lake Superior.
We used this spot as a place to go hiking in pictured rocks national park. We also ended up doing some hikes around Marquette.
Overall this was a fantastic experience and we are so thankful to Lauren for sharing her land!

I can't recommend this hipcamp site enough! The location was beautiful, and the dome was very cozy. It was remote enough to get peace and quiet, but not too remote that there weren't things to do during the day. The accommodations in the dome had so many thoughtful touches, it really improved our experience a lot feeling the care that went into the place. Lauren did a great job checking in throughout our stay, and had the best recommendations. Overall we had a great stay and will definitely be back.

Life is a series of moments—of memories we make. This place is a great place to start! The views are astounding, the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the decor and amenities were perfect. From roasting marshmallows outside while overlooking the lake, to starting a fire in the wood-burning stove and enjoying the stars from bed—it doesn’t get any better! The host made everything super easy and incredibly fun. Whether you’re solo or adventuring with others, the location can’t be beat.

This place is such a unique gem! The dome was clean, beautiful and way more than we were expecting. Lauren and Caden’s attention to detail was above and beyond. We packed for full camping, not knowing what we needed, but upon arriving we quickly realized we overpacked. Water for dishes and drinking, wood for both the fires, great selection of tea/coffee, paper towels, pot and cast iron pan etc., were all thoughtfully provided. The space is stunning, cozy and peaceful, with intentional accents of crystals and healing-vibe decorations. They made communication very accessible and recommended their favorite waterfalls and rock hunting beaches. The view from the dome/property are breathtaking, and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights one evening. To watch them from bed is a truly unforgettable experience. We 10/10 recommend this romantic destination and we will be back. Thinking the fall colors would be epic here. Thank you Lauren and Caden!!

Where to go
Paddle Remote Shorelines
UP paddling options are limitless with three great lakes bordering the peninsula. Turquoise waters will have you feeling like you’re on a Caribbean island, but the cold, freshwater will say otherwise. Kayak and canoe launch sites are plentiful—navigate cliff sides with waterfalls and paddle alongside waterfowl and loons watching from the shore. Some shore areas are private, but simply pull up a map to see state parks, recreation areas, and public sites for paddling launches and landings.
Hit the Beach
White, sandy beaches are the highlight of summer for most campers on the Upper Peninsula. Many extend for miles with great public access, but you can also head north to the shores of Lake Superior, where the 12-mile Great Sand Bay Beach sits off the beaten path with trails, sandy shorelines, and gorgeous waters. If you want plenty of space and nice, soft sand, Sand Point Beach is also worth considering.
Explore Hiking Trails
While the abundance of water is a major draw, the interior peninsula areas are also ripe with opportunity. Hit the Porcupine Mountains for a slew of trails, many of which are connected and prime for creative route planning to loop back to your vehicle or pass through to different areas. The Escarpment Trail is perfect for a half-day hike, while the Eben Ice Caves are a quick two miles in to leave you time to check out the caves.
Visit the Keweenaw Peninsula
The northernmost section of the UP holds some of its greatest treasures. The Keweenaw Peninsula’s aforementioned Great Gray Sand Beach is a fun place to visit, Brockway Mountain is a great hike, and the Keweenaw Water Trail offers a 100-mile loop of the entire peninsula (technically an island). Visit Copper Harbor to drive around and take in the natural beauty of area state parks and lighthouses.
When to go
Summer and fall are the prime visiting seasons on the Upper Peninsula. Fishing, boating, and beachcombing are all excellent during these seasons, when crowds are larger but there is plenty of space. Even during high season, it’s likely possible to find RV campsites, tent camping, and room to roam on the waterfront. Although the water is a bit chilly for swimming, fall is especially nice as the colors change and the busy summer tourism season winds down. Meanwhile, winters are long and quiet on the Upper Peninsula. Experienced cross-country skiers, snowshoers, and snowsport enthusiasts may love the empty off-season, when waters are ice cold, beaches are closed, and trails may be difficult to access.
