My husband and I really enjoyed camping on John's land. Everything that you need is already there, set up ready to go. The place was very peaceful and quiet. Both of our dogs were able to run around the property and enjoy it just as much as we did. I would definitely plan another stay here.

What an incredible place. So peaceful, so secluded, exactly what we were hoping for. We only stayed one night for this trip, and we all wished we could have stayed longer so we will definitely be planning a longer stay in the future.
The bed was very comfortable, I always worry about that when staying at places away from home. We did have to relocate a few 8-legged friends from inside the yurt when we first arrived, but they didn’t put up too much of a fight.
We got rain during the night, and my new favorite thing is sleeping in a yurt while it’s raining. It was heaven. I love how the yurt is nestled under pines, it’s such a good spot.

We had a wonderful time and Jeff was great! We would certainly recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, private spot to hangout and relax. The shower, kitchen, and outhouse were much appreciated- I really loved how well maintained and clean the outhouse was! We brought our dogs and they enjoyed running around and lounging in the sun too.

We loved camping at riverside retreat! Took my 8 year old for his first night in a tent and he had a blast! Set up our tent maybe ten yards from the river and caught fish the whole time we were there. We will absolutely be going back and I highly recommend!!

So quiet! Felt private and reasonably close to the beach -about a 6 mile drive to the county park beach. Worked great for our first car-camping test run.
This suited us well. Thankful for the modest shower (with hot water) and bathroom facilities.

Weekend Trip to Nature’s Refuge
We had such a wonderful stay at John’s glamping yurt! John was an incredibly kind and helpful host—he made us feel welcome right away and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The campsite itself is peaceful and private, surrounded by beautiful grounds that made it easy to relax and unwind.
The setup is fantastic: everything is thoughtfully laid out, from the cozy yurt and outdoor shower to the well-equipped cooking area with a grill, stove, tables, and a great firepit for evenings by the fire. Awesome for our dog, too!! We also had a blast playing cornhole—such a fun touch!
We’re so glad we found this spot and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a private, relaxing, nature-filled getaway with great amenities and an amazing host. Thanks again, John!

We love this spot just because of the privacy you get. We were driving distance from all the dunes a lot of good hiking spots on the beach a paddling spots. We loved it cause we could wake up see the sun rise before we went hiking a paddling come back a take a nice shower as long as you have a fire lol was a little cold in may. We love it an definitely gonna book again for our hikes in the future instead of sleeping in the car. Great price as well. Just loved everything about.
