We have planted various fruit trees, cherries, apples, peach as well as pears. We also have a small grape and berry patch which is next to our vintage trailer. There is also an old abandoned trail through the forest that makes for a nice walk. Our location is convenient to Traverse City, Alden, Belaire, Kalkaska as well as the equestrian center and the casino in Williamsburg. There are various places to eat/drink within close proximity as well as places to purchase fuel, groceries and liquor. Old Mission and Leelanau peninsulas are a convenient drive where you can visit the many vineyards, orchards and enjoy the beautiful vistas of the lake and bays, or shop some of the unique stores and galleries. There are many off road vehicle and bike trails that are not far away as well. As well as boating on beautiful Torch Lake and the chain of lakes. A day trip to Sleeping Bear dunes is well worth the drive. We would be happy to make suggestions on activities, dining, entertainment during your stay. We currently have three sites which are on seperate areas of the property. Lake View site is a Vintage 1985 Avion travel trailer which as been completely renovated with all new systems. It is located with a western view of Lake Skegemog and next to our grape and berry patch in our back yard. Maple Grove site is a new Coachmen Catalina Destination series RV. It is located on the front side of the property next to the maple tree grove. Lavender Lane is located in front of our barn with a view of our small orchard and the forest, close to the walking trail. All our sites are fully outfitted with quality linens, towels, dishes and cooking equipment. All of the units have Air Conditioned and heat.

This cozy cabin in the woods was exactly the peaceful getaway we needed. The starry nights, crackling campfires, and quiet walks through the forest with our dog made the stay unforgettable. The cabin itself was warm, welcoming, and full of thoughtful touches, especially the welcoming basket waiting for us. The propane gas fireplace kept us perfectly comfortable on the cold nights, and the entire space felt like a true retreat. We loved having time to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature together. This stay was a much-needed mental health reset, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We loved camping at Rick’s! The cabin was well stocked with spices, flashlights, cozy and nice bedding. Rick resupied firewood for us and pointed out the trails to explore. The view from the cabin porch was beautiful with lots of colorful trees. The firepit was huge and we used the grates to cook over the fire. We’re coming back next summer!

The cabin is so cozy and it is clear that a lot of thought has been put into this stay (extra lights, lighters, charcoal for the grill, multiple chairs, condiments, lots of wood etc.). My dog and I were nice and toasty when it got down below freezing. The outhouse was spotless. The fire pit and yard were so charming at night. Lots of trails to walk. Beautiful setting, and a well-equipped rustic cabin! Jeremey was incredibly helpful answering our questions ahead of the trip, and made sure everything was ready for our arrival. So peaceful and relaxing! Our husky Tala loved being able to explore. We loved the covered deck, the sauna, and being able to use the canoes on the crystal clear river. Rick's place was such a gift. There were so many signs of thoughtfulness and insight into his prepared mind. Not only was the cabin equipped w/ basics but he also offers extras such as raincoats, hammocks, and what not. The property is well cared for, he has beautifully growing plants on the front porch The outhouse was actually nice, well stocked, and it was clean! The cabin too, was very clean, cleanest tiny cabin in woods I've seen yet! I like how he designed and decorated the cabin, it felt much bigger than it was. The framed bear art was so enjoyable to look at, each time I'd find something I hadn't before. It was like a mix between a Hieronymus Bosch piece and a teddy bears picnic! I highly recommend, he's a really nice easy going guy, pleasant to communicate with.

Hillcrest (Lake View) has a beautiful view. Chose this for a fall getaway. Great location central to Traverse City (asylum tour) and Boyne Mountain (Skybridge). Hosts are friendly and Avion RV was a cool experience, clean and well-stocked with everything you need. Hope to visit again in the summer to experience Torch Lake, which is very close to this.

Carole and Art are two of the sweetest, most accommodating hosts you'll ever hope to meet! The amount of care and effort they put into making you feel comfortable is second to none. Like I told them, they thought of everything! Even the doggos and kiddos are made to feel welcome. There were even games for children of all ages to play - outdoors and in. For me, it was a solo trip. Carole and Art's property is so quiet and relaxing and was just what the Mental Health Professional ordered! I highly recommend the Arcala Bunkhouse for individuals, couples, groups, and families alike. The property has hills all around and is adjacent to a tree farm. Everything is so beautiful! I took so many pictures of the landscape and wildlife. I shared the atypical ones in order to not repeat the pictures that were already posted. Bill & Dan’s place is lovely. While you are obviously staying in a RV, as soon as you walk out the door or look out the window there are beautiful expansive grounds that they have created. Flowers abound, lots of green grass and trees and places to sit in the yard and on the deck. A beautiful hot tub is made available to guests and it was a lovely way to unwind from the day of touring all that the area has to often.. Bill & Dan are great hosts and very accommodating to anything you might need. They pay so much attention to detail that it is quite impressive! If you are on the tall side, it may be challenging to be in a bed that is shorter than normal size, as the RV designed beds are. We both enjoyed our stay there and really appreciated how much there is to do in the area. It is centrally located between Traverse City and some of the things to do a little bit east and north, so it’s a great location. It’s very quiet and peaceful on their property, and it is nice to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of Traverse City. If you happen to have an EV, there’s an EV charging station 10 minutes away that works really well. Definitely recommend Bill & Dan‘s place!
