We can also accommodate large groups at a single campsite or you can rent several of them. Our primary guideline is that if your event will be held while other campers are here, it cannot disturb them. So, consider renting the whole campground.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please plan to arrive and set up camp between 3 and 9 PM. If you are planning to arrive after 9 PM, please send us a message letting us know. We decide on a case by case basis since we prefer not to have late arrivals. In any event we do not accept arrivals after 11 PM except in an emergency since many campers and your host may have already gone to bed.
Overview:
Our beautiful 10 acre farm and homestead is situated between Ann Arbor and Dexter not far from the Huron River. The 5 acre area where our campsites are located is wooded with mature oak, maple, walnut, elm, and white pine trees. We're isolated and surrounded by wild areas and natural farm land but just a 10 minute drive to restaurants, groceries, fuel, and other amenities. The Ann Arbor area is home to a huge array of world class events from the Ark music venue to National Champions Michigan home football games and a whole lot more. Downtown Ann Arbor or Dexter or Chelsea is only a 15 minute car drive. White Lotus Farms, which has a wonderful farm market on Saturdays from 9 - 2 and Wednesdays from 9 - 1, is a 10 minute walk down our dirt road. If you forget to bring something that you need, don't hesitate to ask! We've got a growing number of camping essentials for rent or sale for very reasonable prices that can make your stay even more enjoyable: from bug repellants to camp chairs, potable water in 2.5 - 5 gallon containers, and more.
NEW IN 2025 we have installed a hose with potable water near the entrance to the campground for your convenience.

Trains , but they dont bother me . There does seem to be more trains during the week than on our weekend stay . I was raised in the inner city so again they dont bother me. Great views , good people run it and I love the sound of the water.

Nicely secluded but close to major roads and places to visit. If you love nature, it is a perfect campsite to spend your days and especially quiet evenings around the fire. Plan on going back our next time in the area.

We had a great time and Pete was very accommodating. We had a surprise birthday party and had a beautiful site with space for everyone. Appreciated the ease of firewood available to purchase and extra chairs. The perfect place to relax and have a bonfire with friends.

A sweet little spot by the river. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed saying hi to the turtles and goats and cats near the office and kayak rental area when we checked in.
The train is definitely right there and runs all night with horns, so be mindful of whether you’re someone who will be bothered or unable to sleep because of that.
We stayed at site 1, which is right on the river’s edge and nice to wake up to herons and misty sunrises. Site 1 and 2 share an area without a barrier between them (though ample space for both). Site 3 is next to these sites, not immediately next to the water, but slightly more private. Site 4 is farther away from all three of the others and more secluded (and I think also right on its own little inlet of water, but I didn’t walk into the site to say for sure).
We stayed here as a jumping off place for visiting Cedar Point, and would do so again.

Site 4 is a lovely secluded spot with its own pond (with big fish!) a great fire pit and a picnic table; porta-potty is just down the entrance road. Don't be put off by the initial check in area, the camp sites are very nice and are on the Portage River easy paddle distance to Sandusky Bay.
For light sleepers: Trains do rumble by most of the night, some with loud horns.

We loved our space and found it to be a nice quiet area. Friendly host and plenty of firewood to buy. There are mosquitos of course so bring spray. Property has goats behind a fence which we stopped to say hi to. Will definitely return

Forgot to see the tortoise before we left! Loved it!! and will be back but with ear plugs!! There's a train that runs quite often. So if your a light sleeper bring ear plugs. I'll bring a box you can have for the office. Loved our site right next to the water and the remote location. Plus that I can bring my dog with no hassle. Also the fact that there aren't tons of sites where people are on top of each other. This is what I look for and another reason I chose here. Didn't hear anyone else except nature!! They've got everything else you'd possible want! Next time I'm paddling!!

The owners are so friendly and the area is beautiful. Nice flat camping area as well as a provided fire pit. They even deliver the fire wood directly to your campsite. If you are a light sleeper you may want to bring hearing protection for at night as there are a lot of trains that go by.
