About Tyme Farm is a 26 plus acre privately owned farm used for crops such as corn, soy beans and sunflowers. The property includes a 150+ year old stone farm house, large historic barn on the barn quilt tour in Carroll County, renovated camping cabin for those not into rough camping, fields, streams , woods for hiking, plenty of wild life and lots of quiet. The farm is surrounded by other farms in the agricultural preservation program yet you are only 5 miles from stores, movies, antiques and other aspects of civilization or entertainment if needed. Enjoy watching the deer come out of the woods and meander along the stream and fields at dusk and return in the morning. Electric, water, fire pit and a Port a Pot is available even for rough campers. Pets welcome but must be on a leash or exercise pen or with their owners in some way while here for their safety. There is a large fenced yard for dogs that just have to run if needed. Glamorous camping with a furnished heated/cooled cabin is available for rent by the night for those who do not have camping equipment or do not want to rough it. For those that have been camping before and have all the equipment there is plenty of room for a tent or camper near the buildings or by the stream or woods. For RV owners there is 50amp electric service in the barn. You will need an RV extension cord to access it. I have a 100 ft RV ext. cord but it can be farther than that depending on where you park. Bring one of your own to be sure. It is a farm and not set up like an RV park with numerous outlets.

Had a great time glamping at Edwin's farm. The tent is cozy, the bed is comfy, and the dogs are adorable. Site was a bit hot during the day in full sun but comfortable after sundown. A picnic table would enhance the experience. Overall my son and I loved it and would return.

We loved camping on the top of the Land Rover. A very unique experience for me and my kids. Three of us squeezed in and we slept well. The dogs- as everyone states- are truly a joy to be around. Peaceful fun adventure getaway for a night.

My son and I had such a great time. The dogs are so friendly and fun. The property is gorgeous. The portable toilet is the cleanest I’ve EVER used. So unique and fun, highly recommend. For someone just easing back into camping, this was a great start and safe!

Weekend Trip to Maple Grove Farm
We stayed in the tent on top of the Land Rover. It was parked along the tree line on the edge of a pasture. About 50 sheep with lambs, an alpaca, a gentle, friendly pony and a horse were in the field next to us. If you’re a dog lover, you’ll really appreciate his farm dogs, who were happy to hang with us and keep us company. The tent was quite comfortable, though it took some concentration to safely maneuver getting up and down the ladder. The port a pot was the freshest smelling, cleanest one I’d ever encountered, and the other tent sites were in the same field, but not at all close to our site. The town of Bel Air is very close by with numerous restaurants. I would recommend the Sunny Day Cafe or one of the others on main st in the old town center. Bel Air also has just about any retail store you can think of. If you want to stay away from all of that, there are several nice parks within 20-30 minutes of the farm. Harford Glen is an environmental center that has a boardwalk through some wetlands, hiking trails through the woods and along side a creek, and a pond. Check online to find out when it’s open to the public. Rocks State Park also has hiking trails, with Dear Creek running through it. Visit the King and Queen Seat while you’re there. Also nearby, is a popular rail trail if you have bikes with you. Our stay at Edwin’s farm was very pleasant and carefree, which is just what we were looking for. Thanks Edwin!

Pam was an excellent host. The free firewood was a real bonus! This site is surrounded by farmland and since all the fields had been harvested, there was a lot of open area to explore. We flew our kite with no worries of getting it caught in a tree. The dogs had a great time running around.

My night in the van was excellent! A window inside let's you stare out from the bed, the tent is equipped with blankets, matches, a lantern, and the pups love to know what you're up to. It was such an excellent and easy getaway, and Edwin is an incredibly responsive, helpful, and friendly host!
