Tents: There is no outhouse but for an extra charge we can provide a porta potty and potty tent as well as a water pump for water. Breakfast is included in the price. RVs: we prefer you be self contained but if you need electric you can park on our driveway and use the outlet on the side of the house. We can fill you up with water from the hose if needed. Breakfast is included at the bed and breakfast! Lodging: this is also a full service bed and breakfast. We are the PERFECT spot to host family reunions. Families can camp and use the bed and breakfast for the weekend with plenty of space for everyone! We also host small weddings! It’s quiet. Birds are always chirping. Come enjoy beautiful Lake Bistineau! We are located in a cove with access to the main channel. We have a boat launch on the property for guests to use. The dock is off limits, but you are welcome to fish from the shoreline or bring your own boat/kayak/canoe to launch from our boat launch. From about end of July - February, they drain the lake and you will not be able to launch a boat with a vehicle. You can still get access to the water with a canoe or kayak by walking but the boat launch will not be usable. Lake Bistineau has a Salvania problem, so during March - June, the water is usually pretty clear, good for fishing, swimming and boating. Mid-June and July, there could be enough salvania to make fishing by the shore and swimming not good. During this time, we recommend you have some way to reach deeper water by boat/canoe/kayak/pirouge to enjoy better fishing and swimming. You will see examples of the salvania in the picutres posted.

Weekend Trip to Toledo Bend Retreat

We loved camping on Paul’s Land. The land was beautiful. We got to see four otters swimming in the creek beside the land. It is very quiet and peaceful. Paul was great with answering all of our questions.

I love the peacefulness of this place. We had somewhat of a waterfront view on site C1 of the lake which is part of the Toledo Bend Reservoir. We could’ve had a waterfront view if we chose row E. There are 3 sites there. We had a nice gravel site with FHU. Campground is surrounded by tall trees. The only downfall is the phone service connection. There is WiFi, general store, big dog park, swimming pier, boat dock, and birds constantly singing. It’s a beautiful place for me.
