I stayed at what I think is the best spot—Campsite 2—and had a great experience. The water was beautiful, and the whole area felt peaceful and relaxing. Damon was helpful and let me know where water might collect if it rained. My dog and I weren’t bothered by anyone and really enjoyed the quiet. I’d definitely stay here again.

genuinely cannot say enough nice things about this Hipcamp. Phanat could not have been a lovelier host — he even shared king cake with me, which felt so special and personal. The space itself was peaceful and thoughtfully cared for, but what really stood out was what he’s building for the community. If you are visiting the New Iberia area, this is a great place to stay. It is an urban farm with many innovations. In this garden, you can see intensive gardening methods, water collection systems and even bio gas production. So it’s not only a convenient place to stay. It’s a place to learn about unusual gardening techniques.

What a great place to stay a day or more and enjoy the property. They grow green leaf veggies, herbs etc there and it is very well organized. The grounds keeper, Jen is delightful and a go getter.
The house is surrounded by flowers, shrubs etc and is beautiful.
Elect is limited to no more than 15 amps, the outlets are 20.
There is some mild local road traffic but very reasonable noise and quiet at night.
It is the best hipcamp we have stayed at.
We thank Phanat for offering his property for a stay in New Iberia.

A wonderful spot to crash and visit the various attractions nearby. The Tabasco Factory etc was great!
Traffic on the neighborhood road is not bad and the sound of the train, two time during the night was not very loud.
The Farm and grounds keeper, Jen is delightful and very helpful. She does the whole farm to Market with the produce.
Wish we lived closer so we could visit this quaint and great hide out.

I would most definitely recommend Damon's land for camping! It was peaceful and quiet but not too far from town. As a solo female camper, I felt safe. Having access to the RV (which could have been a little cleaner, but was not the worst public bathroom I've seen!) with a flush toilet, hot running water, and shower was a game changer for my trip ~ I had planned to split my 2 week vacation between camping and hostels, but decided to camp the whole time! I will camp on Damon's land again the next time I am in Louisiana!
