We're a non profit community garden in the Old Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, a 15 minute drive or ferry ride to the French Quarter. We use the money from these bookings to fund the community food access work that we do. While you're here you can enjoy our peaceful and spacious garden property, and we encourage you to get to know some of the fantastic neighbors who use our community fridge and herb garden.
Take the scenic Mississippi River Levee Path 1 mile to get to the Algiers Ferry dock which departs every 30 minutes and drops you off at the foot of Canal Street in the heart of New Orleans. If you have a car you can cross the bridge and get to most of the city in 15 minutes. You can also explore Algiers Point with its many restaurants, bars, local art and historic buildings. The levee trail is a block away, where you can jog, bike, or just watch the boats go by.
Property amenities include an open air bathroom and shower, communal screened porch with seating area, propane grill and various pots/pans, cooking gear and tableware, fridge, picnic tables and a small fire pit. There is an herb garden out front and there may be fruits and vegetables available for you, fresh from the garden, depending on the time of year.

This cozy fenced-in spot provides a place to plug in your RV and stay in the Big Easy in a safe, tucked away side yard just minutes from the Bywater, Marigny and French Quarter and a few blocks from the Mississippi River. Enjoy your morning coffee on the brick patio and feel free to use the fire pit (fall/winter only) and hammock! Please don't mind Poka, my old and gentle English Shepherd, who may wander around. The description says an acre because it is impossible to put in a smaller number, but the actual parking space is about 25 x 50 ft, with additional hangout space nearby.
I am right next door (on the other side of the fence) if you need anything and can help navigate entering and setting up and give you a key to lock the gate with.

I stayed here while visiting New Orleans to experience Mardi Gras. Plenty of space, calm, quiet, peaceful. I got some great rest after spending time in the city. Got a couple of good pics of the bridge at night as well.

Unique spot in the city. Felt very safe. Kat was available from the moment we clicked. Easy enough access for my class A size van We were able to stay parked and got the day pass for the RVA public transport and moved around with bus and trolleys. Get the APP. Definitely keeping this spot on my radar for New Orleans

We had a pleasant 3 day stay with easy access to downtown New Orleans. The RV park was exactly how it was represented online, a big parking area with good connection to new hook ups. The place was very secure and we felt safe. Very quiet and we enjoyed the intermittent sounds of nearby trains. Management was very friendly, met us on our arrival and very helpful with set up.
Be aware to be sure you call right before you arrive so security gate can be opened - otherwise you’re RV will stick out into busy street. Thanks BJ!

A safe place to stay the night! This was a no frills RV park (no bathroom, simple grassy lot) but the gated entrance and well lit area was comforting. Brijesh was super friendly and welcoming! There was a bit of noise from the nearby train, but also super fun to watch it go by. Overall I would recommend! Great value.

Stayed here with my motorhome for a few days around New Year’s. Gated grounds with cameras made it feel safe even though the surrounding neighborhood seems a bit rough.
The park was clean, some nice from trains at night, and appeared well maintained. Easy access for RVs.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, just what you need after a long day of driving.
There is a bus stop nearby, which makes it fairly easy to get to the French Quarter and downtown without having to drive yourself. Overall, it is a reasonably priced and practical place to stay with a motorhome if you want secure parking and decent standards a short distance outside the city center.

This piece of campsite in the midst of a gardeb is beautiful as well as comfortable. We camped with a hatch tent attached to our SUV and the campsite was big enough for it. Facilities are clean and you wake up to the sound of birds. Though Mark was not on site during our stay, he was super responsive and helped answer all our questions. Would definitely come back.

We really enjoyed our stay at Pelican Gardens! The gardens were beautiful and we felt very at home in our van. The area was safe and about a 25 minute walk to the ferry which was convenient for us. Being from MN, we loved the weather and the enclosed outdoor shower. Would highly recommend!
