We're a non profit community garden in the Old Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans on the West Bank of the Mississippi River, a 15 minute drive or ferry ride to the French Quarter. We use the money from these bookings to fund the community food access work that we do. While you're here you can enjoy our peaceful and spacious garden property, and we encourage you to get to know some of the fantastic neighbors who use our community fridge and herb garden. Take the scenic Mississippi River Levee Path 1 mile to get to the Algiers Ferry dock which departs every 30 minutes and drops you off at the foot of Canal Street in the heart of New Orleans. If you have a car you can cross the bridge and get to most of the city in 15 minutes. You can also explore Algiers Point with its many restaurants, bars, local art and historic buildings. The levee trail is a block away, where you can jog, bike, or just watch the boats go by. Property amenities include an open air bathroom and shower, communal screened porch with seating area, propane grill and various pots/pans, cooking gear and tableware, fridge, picnic tables and a small fire pit. This cozy fenced-in spot provides a place to plug in your RV and stay in the Big Easy in a safe, tucked away side yard just minutes from the Bywater, Marigny and French Quarter and a few blocks from the Mississippi River. I loved my stay at Kat’s little oasis in such a prime location, she went above and beyond during my stay. I am grateful for the time we got to chat, I found her easy to talk to, appreciated her knowledge on the area, local insight and community mindset. Being at the 8 month mark of living in a camper, I can’t describe how incredible it was to have access to all the amenities! Not to mention, she has a dog- what more could you ask for? This was a mildly difficult space to get into as a truck and camper, granted- it was dark and I was by myself- but absolutely doable, and worth it.

The RV space was premo for my vehicle & gear; there was ample space to pitch a tent and beat the Nola heat. Mark communicated transparently about the space and made accessibility easy. The semi-outdoor bathroom/shower was a nice touch - plenty of hot water with the on demand water heater. Mark & co. were super friendly and gave a lot of insights into the little fabulous cultural tidbits that Nola is full of. Sunday brunch was so much fun! Pelican gardens are such a beautiful forest of food and tropical plants 🌿 this was exactly the greenspace and vibe that I was seeking for camping, all while being a 20 minute walk to the Algiers ferry and close to the French Quarter & downtown. Riding the ferry daily and using the RTA Jazzy pass was a total breeze 🏖

We had an amazing time in New Orleans and it started with Kat's cozy campsite! We were amazed at the beauty of her plants surrounding the seating area. Very peaceful and conveniently close to a lot of the attractions. Already looking forward to staying there again! Had 30 amp electricity and water for our camper. Our camper measures roughly 22ft long by 9ft tall on the edges by 7ft wide for reference.

Kat is a thoughtful host. The yard is nice, lush with elephant ear and fig trees. Location is great. Easy to bus to the French quarter and walk the dog along the Mississippi. Also the yard is fully fenced, so my dog could have outdoor time in total safety. We have a 3/4 ton truck and a 17' trailer. The street is narrow, so just getting lined up took some doing and backing in through the gate was tricky for us. It was a tight squeeze and we were unable to manoeuvre our door far from the fence because of this. If your set up is any bigger than ours, I'd recommend communicating with Kat first before booking. If your rig fits, you're good to go!

I wss unable to stay due o seasonal mosquito invasion. An unfortunate event my host could not control. Understand understanding my situation. I was refunded immediately and moved right on down the road to my next destination. I will return to this site in the fall or spring when the weather is a little more conducive to non-mosquitoes. Weekend Trip to Royal Palms RV Park

Came here to go check out New Orleans for a few days and I feel like it was worth what we paid. The place is run by a super cute couple who are making improvements and are passionate about the property. It does have a motel on site as well. The area is secure and is gated which if it wasn’t we wouldn’t have chose to stay here as it is in a very sketchy area. We came here to sleep and then left to New Orleans for the day and it was worth it knowing our dogs and property was secure. I also think the owners stay on site in a house. Full hookups were available, pets were allowed, would stay again! 20-30 mins from New Orleans French quarters.

Brit was awesome, greeted me and made me feel incredible welcome yet provided independence on the property. Mark visited once to say hi and seemed generous. There was a nice couple staying in the main shipping container unit who I shared a bathroom / showers with. Felt safe and plenty spacious. Biked to the ferry along the levy at sunset and wow beautiful spot!
