A working horse farm with some wooded areas and lots of spots to pitch a tent or hammock. We have a friendly dog, 2 mini highland cows and currently 3 horses! We are on 20 acres. We are constantly improving our land and are expanding our horse boarding as we do so. Close to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace , Mcdougal Lake and the main square in Hodgenville which has cute little restaurants and places to walk During summer there are lots of wild blackberries to pick on the perimeter of the pasture (this is usually June-July only). We are bordered on woods so camping can be done in the trees as well or in our nice open area right as soon as you come up the drive. Outside our barn/house we have water and electric outlets as needed. In the open area or the woods there are several trees that can be used for a hammock as well. We do have a large fire pit near our house and a ton of wood fires can be started as long as we are not under a burn ban if we are having a dry summer or fall. In our camping field we have a smaller black fire pit for use . The pastures are set back from the woods so feel free to walk the perimeter of them. We do have 2 farm dogs that are super friendly and gentle. If you have an RV it’s easier to enter into the 1575 entrance and pull through

South of Lexington, in the heart of the Bluegrass, our little farm is making a big impact on our community. We raise chickens for eggs and meat, sheep for lamb meat, occasionally turkeys and a wide variety of produce and berries, along with bees for honey. Our peacocks are here for pure pleasure, but we do pick up feathers and design crafts with them from time to time. Whether we're planting seeds, gathering eggs, or rounding up sheep, there's always something happening on the farm. Close by there's lots to do: golfing, fishing, boating, hiking, birding or touring the bourbon trail.

Staying at Sticky Wicket Farms was a great experience in no small part due to the wonderful host Leslie. We opted for the quiche and cinammon rolls and both were homemade, hot and delicious. Having full hook-ups was very convenient. We really enjoyed walking the drive and seeing the animals. Thank you, Leslie!!

This is the perfect spot, especially when you’re like me (new to the camper lifestyle, 24y/o) and have been driving for 8 hours only to realize that you didn’t overlap your days to check out from an old campsite and into your new site- on the same day. We were 30 minutes from the site we booked for the NEXT day, and not the day we had needed it. Allison’s property came in SERIOUS HANDY. Other HipCamp properties were available, but needed a 24 hr window to book. Then I found Allison. Our angel from God himself. Instant booking. $45 after taxes/fees. Best $45 we HAVE EVER SPENT. Cheaper and more private than a hotel, better than a Walmart parking lot. There’s a 50 amp hookup, and on the other side of that there is a residential plug in too. Two water spigots which came in handy too when we hadn’t expected to need them. The horses were chill, didn’t bug us. Only weird vibe we got was when we were setting up when we got there because in the large open field in front of the barn (we got there at dark so I couldn’t see) I heard an animal making a weird whimpering noise, high pitch. I asked about coyotes which they technically do have but anyway we were fine like they keep their horses outside, so it’s safe. Their dog was chill, stayed up by the house. Our two dogs didn’t even care, not sure if they realized they had a dog. They were great there. I will say if you have dogs though that the spot is on gravel so fur baby paws could be sensitive to it. But yeah, worth your money!

This is what I believe this app was created for. We enjoyed waking up to seeing cows and horses. Allison and fam went above and beyond for our comfort. We were in the area to go see some caves. Our 4yr old had the time of his life between that and the pleasant farm stay. The night sky was spectacular without light pollution, and the sounds were all farm/nature.

Exceptionally clean restroom. Wifi is acceptable. I was only swinging through for a single night with my 2 kids on way home from vacation. Had some issues connecting to Wi-Fi at first but once I kept PC near the electric pole it was good. I was able to teach kiddos in China using it. Keep in mind that this is a wedding venue that just happens to have a few camp sites so I wouldn't pick this for an extended stay if you have kids. It's not designed with that in mind. If traveling with kids for extended stay I would reccomend the Bowling Green KOA. Not much trees or grass at this wedding Venue. It's like a rocky mountain landscape theme. For a night or two while traveling somewhere it's fine. There is water to look at but you can't walk down to it. It would be nicer if they brush hogged and made a walking trail down to the water, but it is still pretty to look out over. All sites are full sun so that combined with the boulders absorbing heat makes for a hot place, but by evening it did cool off. The boulders are an interesting landscaping choice. Kids thought they were cool. Campsite fulfilled our needs.
