Very High Elevation in the Open Pasture Area!  We own 200 acres of all types of terrain. There is a very large pasture for camping and a hunters' apartment for rent. Our property is surrounded by thousands of acres of unoccupied land.We have an apartment set up with 4 bunk bed sets for hunters, with a bathroom and kitchen. There is no stove, but double hot plates, toaster oven, microwave, crock pots, refrigerator, etc. It is not at all fancy, but is certainly usable for short-term lodging. It will accommodate 8 people easily and more on inflatable mattresses or cots.

Very High Elevation open pasture. You can see waaaayyy out in the distance. Beautiful Open Country!!

Burdoc Farms is nestled in the idyllic natural green hills. Burdoc Farms offers a true and relaxed experience for your once in a lifetime event.With over 650 acres of open fields and forest, Burdoc Farms has been in the Shepherd family for over 80 years. The farm was once a tobacco and cattle farm, producing national champion Shorthorn Beef Cattle in the 60’s. When Keith and Sara Shepherd took over operations in the 90’s the farm was converted to a conservation farm, with timber management, wildlife habitat, recreation and agritourism becoming the main focus of farm operations.

We love sharing our farm with other conservation minded guest, but if you need access to modern amenities we can accommodate you too. We have over 10 miles of trails to explore nature on your own. If you just want to sit by a fire and relax we have a communal fireplace or fire pit. We have a pond for fishing or swimming whatever you heart desires. Pets are allowed and welcome. Barbour Farms Camp sets on the hallowed grounds of the historic Ol' Ledford Farm. Our Great-Great grandparents, Jim and Mary Ledford, purchased this farm in  1880. 

At an additional cost you may request a guided tour of: "A Day in the Life of Jim &  Mary Ledford."

See were the historic Montgomery Co. Griffey School once set on property. 

View Jim and Mary's Ol' house seat and drink from the artesian spring where they got their water daily. 

Jim and Mary were quite industrious, along with their seven children. 

Picture their mule drawn wagon, sawmill, sorghum mill, and grist mill. 

Once upon a time, their family provided these services and many others to the community.
