Amber was a great host! Kept me updated regularly on the weather. Would love to come back to this quiet little river side place during the dry season. Had some bad storms but was kept updated by amber regularly. Even offered to move me to a different site. The site itself was nice. Right by the river. Perfect little getaway to do some fishing. Would definitely recommend this place to others.

Amber was a kind and helpful host during our trip. She greeted us when we arrived and answered our questions. If we needed her, she was just a quick message away. We didn't have any cell service as expected, but the wifi was a nice touch. Our trip was unfortunately super rainy- the sites get extremely muddy with rain, which was expected due to the listing info. Be sure to bring extra tarps and appropriate shoes if the weather shows rain! The hill to get down to the sites by the river is just fine without weather, but it can be a challenge with rainy conditions. That being said, my SUV (Subaru) made it up the hill with no issues. Thanks, Amber!

I had a great stay at Barren River Magic. 2d was super nice and very accommodating. I only stayed one night but I would have liked to stay longer. It was an easy walk to beautiful private river access. Highly reccommended!

This place was truly magical right out of a fairytale with beautiful rolling hills, cute wildlife, beautiful artistic buildings, the sounds of birds and a gentle rolling river. It was April so I thought it would be too cold to play in the river but it was not. The river was refreshing and the water was crystal clear. There were beautiful butterflies down by the river. The host 2D was amazing as well. He's such a sweet person. It wasn't busy and there were some storms coming in so he upgraded us to one of the lean to cabins. He was the type of man who would probably be everyone's "pappy". I loved seeing and hearing about some of the projects they were working on to grow Barren River Magic. It really is a place to get away from everything. All we heard was birds and the host driving his tractor around occasionally. I went here with my kids and our little dog because I'm going to one of the summer festivals there so I wanted to get to know the area while it was nice and slow so it won't be so overwhelming on the big event. My children are homeschoolers so this was a great little science and artistic field trip for a couple days for them. I highly recommend this place to go and "get away from it all" for a few days. The off grid setup is so interesting. There is art everywhere and the use of recycled materials that I would have never thought of. Some things I recommend is bring toilet paper, bring a way to wash up, and leave the kids tablets at home. It's so nice here!

1 night at Barren River Magic

Totum was a relaxing property maybe 150 feet away from a creek that was super relaxing to listen to all night. The campsite as a whole is super eccentric while still remaining cozy. 10/10

Amazing time! 10/10!! Very cool laidback vibe. Owners are so friendly and kind and helpful. I was there solo for one night. Met fellow campers who took me to a waterfall right on the property! I will be going back for a longer stay. 🏕️

Weekend Trip to Patrick's Point River Camp

I stayed in the river shack shelter and loved every second. Patrick the host said he was bringing in the owls that night. It was incredible. There were owls calling and landing in the trees all around us for hours. The view of the river and the sounds of wildlife were exactly what I was looking for. I had total privacy in the shelter and no one was camped near me. The property was gorgeous and there was even a waterfall to explore. I can't wait to go back again and again. I plan to stay in all of their different cabins and hope to check out their 3 mile hiking trail in the future. Patricks Point River Camp is a great place to visit.

We offer camping ranging from primitive tent sites, to an actual cabin. Hikers, kayakers, canoes, Horses and riders welcome, located a couple miles from Daniel Boone National Forrest, seemingly endless trails through some of the most beautiful country. Bring your canoe and kayaks. Located 16 miles from Cumberland Falls State Park. Located 11 miles from Sheltowee Trade Adventure Park. Located 11 miles from Kentucky Splash Water Park. 11 miles from The Mint Casino!! Clayton Geneva Camp Ground began as a retreat for our family since the 70's. My grandparents, Donald Clayton Russell & Jewel Geneva (Davis) Russell, purchased this little piece of heaven to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cincinnati life. Judy was born in a little cabin just down the road. Judy & Don along with many family members have made cherished memories here over the years. We want to share its beauty with you and your family. Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Canaan Land Farm

Our 300 acre farm was owned by a high ranking officer in the Civil war(not sure if it was North or South). Our log barn is one of the oldest structures in the area and is still mostly standing! We are a working farm with cattle, horses, and a lot of chickens, geese, ducks and turkey, bees, cat, and our dog. Local gossip says that a previous owner had a fish hatchery here and flew the fish out of the airstrip in the upper field. Apparently he was drunk and crashed his plane somewhere on the farm. We love the diversity and abundance of wildlife found here and hope you love it too!Learn more about this land:Campsites are on top of a hill in the forest above Big Creek, on a cliff line facing west.
