We live in the country on a working grain farm (corn and soybeans).
It can get noisy and dusty during harvest and grain hauling operations.
You could wake up to deer eating grain around the bins. In the evenings,
you can look down to the East by tree line for deer and turkey.
We can handle any size RV.
Please pick up after your dogs. We have guest children that play in yard.
All spots are level.
All electric sites are 30/50 and are for year-round use.
We have 9 sites with electric and city water.
3 sites are gravel.
4 sites are grass.
2 are concrete.
We also have a large primitive camping area west of the grain bins in open yard (no electric or water).
Rv parking is available on grass when ground is hard or on the concrete and gravel driveway when soft.
We have one picnic table for campers’ use.
There is a trail we keep mowed North East of the hay barn alongside the crops, which is great for walking/dog run.
Gray water may be dumped in the farm field; the crops love it.
Sorry, we can no longer recommend black water dump stations as the local campgrounds are refusing non-customer use.
Whistling Donkey in Woodward has a dump station; you can call them and ask if you can use it (515) 438-2669.
You can be as private or engaged with us as you feel.
Dumpster is by machine shed.
There are 30+ local TV channels (no cable available).
Open southern skies for satellite use.
The lights automatically turn off at 10 PM. Fire pit is available for your use. Firewood is available East of the barn. Fire Pit light dims down to 15% after 10 PM. Yard lights also come on for one minute at Noon every day. Stargazing really pops at night on a clear night. You are welcome to turn lights back on and continue outdoor activities and use fire pit as long as you do not disturb other campers.
Mouse and weather vane lights stay on all night for your convenience.
Please do not put trash in fire pit. (I have to clean it out)
We would prefer if guests arrive before dark; we like to settle down for the evening.

Experienced camper or newbie, this is a great spot! Very quiet. River just a few feet away for water-based activities (fishing, kayaking, etc.) and some floofy cows that for the most part were quiet at night. Hosts were available and helpful, but left you to your devices. Town of Lake City is nearby for quick supply run and a Casey's pizza. Public camping spot also just down the road. Highlight of the trip was farm dog Fergus who dropped by to check on us in the morning and keep the critters away.

Our stay here was delightful and peaceful. Mark and his wife were incredibly kind and we were fortunate to spend some time with them by the campfire and the free wood. The farm has been in the family for over 150 years – amazing! The site was very quiet, level and had both electrical and water hookups. We highly recommend this site.

This spot is the quietest I’ve experienced yet. The sound of the river is very faint and the cows are quite as well 🙂. The host is very hospitable. Their livestock watchdog and a few donkeys to add to the livestock protection make for a wonderful experience.

I tried out my new RTT and annex and there was plenty of places to set up. Great firewood and fire pit. It was far enough away from the farm to have privacy. I packed in water, toilet, electricity and didn’t need to rely on the site. We had family and small children visit and it was great for that as well.

What a lovely, serene and picturesque Hipcamp!! We enjoyed the sweet quiet town. Gazed at the night sky with fire going….acres and acres of cornfields in the distance. Beautiful sunset and Beautiful vineyard warmly wrapping around us as we enjoyed the night sky. Enjoyed a lovely walk around the church and down the street. Definitely we’d come again. 💕. Hosts were very kind and quick to respond !!

Communication is their best quality. From booking to set up, they were there for questions and info. They were busy picking grapes and at the same time, setting up for a wedding for the morning on their picturesque vineyard property. The evening was so quiet and peaceful sitting outside enjoying the MilkyWay.The owner of the Grit (the local bar) even stopped by and welcomed us to this tiny hamlet and invited us for a drink. Made us feel even more welcome. The church next door was beautiful. We are a 39' Class A pulling a Jeep and had no problem navigating the turn or steep grade to the camp site. However, I would recommend at least some rock where you would drive because we sunk in a little with our weight. 30A and water, but no dump station at this time. Thank you for a wonderful overnight and wish you success as you add to your property.

WONDERFUL FIRST TIME EXPERIENCE WITH HIP CAMP!!! Ryan’s family was the bonus on top of amazing camp sites and beautiful countryside.
We loved everything about our 1 night stay, and we will be back! Clean, pristine grounds, pickleball, walking trails. A fire was already started and Ryan’s came out to share snores with us! Loved their pups! The tree farm and we bought fresh sweet corn to take with us!

Awesome RV hook up site that was level. Mark and his Wife are wonderful Hosts. The directions were very clear and the location was great! We were close to Big Creek lake for swimming and Ledges State Park for hiking and swimming! They greeted us when we arrived and communication was perfect, they responded very quickly! We had a wonderful family camping trip, we stayed for 2 overnights then stayed an additional 2 nights!
