Once the secret speakeasy after dark spot for local political big wigs this property has been transformed from swampland to hidden gem right on the edge of America's Hometown of Muncie, Indiana! Welcome to Narnia! Or Atlantis!? Or... The Property? The Hidden Valley? We just haven't committed to a name yet so it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one! 8 acres on the magical Ganges, er, White River makes for a fun time. You can expect a certain amount of privacy while still potentially making a new friend or two depending on the night. You will be nestled under some giant sycamores, cottonwoods, black walnuts, catulpas, and a mess of bush honeysuckle that is always being battled! We have 2-3 sites directly on the river and then scores throughout with trails, hills, and other interesting features. Multiple firepits though I CANNOT guarantee firewood. There is often plenty to collect or available on site but if you can bring your own that'd be safest bet! We are (somehow) located partially inside Muncie city limits right on the river. Yes you may occasionally hear some trains or even particularly loud cars while camping deep in the woods but this is the tradeoff for a one mile drive to bars, restaurants, and groceries! Best of both worlds. The Muncie Eagles, whose nest resides directly across the river from us, do not seem to mind! This location is also directly on two main bike trail routes and our trails are fun for low impact mountain biking! We also have a small armada of kayaks/canoes on site; IF arranged that option does exist for cost of transport! We have 2 porta potties on site as well and fresh water hose available at main house. Our 22 acre property is perfect for people who want to get away. There is only one house visible from ours. Its very quiet and secluded. We offer 50amp service, water hookup and dump station if needed. There is WIFI also available for RV Campers (we are in the country so it is what it is). There are 2 sites. One in the woods for tent campers and one up above for RV campers. We do not have showers or bathrooms for campers. The Big Blue River boarders the whole property. We have kayaks we could rent out if someone needed them or bring your own. We have a large fire ring up above and a more compact one for river front, with the first wheel barrow load of wood free. We are close to I70 and have a nice little convince store and Dollar Store about a mile away that will have all the necessities. Plenty of room to park at both sites.

I had no problem finding the entrance to the property. I pulled in and contacted Amanda as was asked for in the sites posting for the reservation. I waited and didn't get a reply after about 25 minutes or so I explored and I found my site. It was numbered and found it quite easily on the edge of the large pond which I found out later was once a dolomite quarry. Setup and while I was doing so Amadas parents pulled up and greeted me. View was great of the water and site was level with a large area to turn around my for vehicle and trailer to leave the next morning. No electric or potable water which I knew beforehand but the porta potti was appreciated. Would definitely use Amandas property again.

Tina and Ron are awesome hosts with a great location - just far enough off the beaten path, but still convenient for travelers passing through for one night on a road trip. I was a same day reservation and communication was top notch. I knew before I arrived that I had made the right choice. Ron met me upon my arrival and directed me to my site. Had a wonderful night’s sleep in a peaceful location. I will definitely stay here again when I am passing through this part of Indiana. Thanks for a great stay!

This place is an absolute gem of a spot. Hosts were exceptional - friendly, attentive and really excited to share their special place in the woods with others. There is SO much to explore on the intertwining web of trails. Look for BigFoot in the woods, hike the mini Appalachian and Kentucky Bourbon Trails - all created by Whitney, the host, and his imagination in creating a great space. This place is fantastic for families with kids, but also sparks delight in the imaginations of elder campers too! It allows for more mature parties to have some privacy to feel like they are alone in the wilderness. We are so happy we stumbled across this Hipcamp posting, and we will be recommending this place to all of our local friends for future adventures! Thank you Whitney and Casey!

Great site located close to the river and within a short distance of stores. You can hear traffic, but you definitely cannot see it. Everything about the site is a fairy tale. A lot of work has gone into the site to make it feel like an escape. We felt safe and could relax. The owner and his family were friendly and helpful. They checked in with us a few times during our stay and brought us a beverage and toilet paper. The only things that could make this site better would be the option of an electric hookup and a fresh porta-potty with a latching door.

Weekend Trip to Hidden Valley Fun Time Happy Camp!

Whitney's property is a hidden gem! Located close to restaurants/gas stations/etc but you feel all alone in the woods at the same time. Upon arrival, Whitney met me and showed me to my campsite. Nestled close to the White River was a fire pit and trails meandering through the woods. We also spent a couple hours at nearby Mounds State Park. My dogs and I had a blast. Highly recommend!
