Inn Between the Lakes is a unique location surrounded by farm fields. It's a 1880’s farm house, old barn and newer cottage sit on just under two acres. The main floor of the home is occupied by the owner. Accommodations are available on the second floor of the house, in the cottage, and on the grounds. The upstairs second floor of the home has its own access and is separate from the rest of the house. Three private bedrooms share bathrooms and a porch/living room with a fabulous view. Completely renovated in 2023. This included adding a shared kitchenette, remodeling each bedroom, the bathroom and adding a powder room. Across the deck is the cottage. The newly remodeled suite features a king bed, cotton sheets, a convenient kitchenette, ADA friendly bathroom, private patio and deck.
Set up your tent or RV under a lovely shady tree or near the limitless expanse of a waving corn field.
Enjoy your morning coffee while relaxing on the large deck to the sound of running water meandering to the Koi pond. Grill steaks on one of the BBQ grills. Toast marshmallows at the little table fire pit on the the deck or down at the campfire circle. Take a stroll around the property and enjoy the gardens. Many varieties of vegetation, flowers, trees, herbs and vegetables.
On the north edge of the property is the old 1900 hay barn. It was moved to the property in the 1950’s and has several unique qualities, and is available for weddings or boutique event venue.

Sites are at least 200 feet from the road, out of site from most neighbors. A paved walking and biking trail is just a three minute walk from your camp site. The state park is 1 mile away and a small convenience store is located between the two. Public beaches on lake Michigan are only 5 miles away.

My husband and I really enjoyed camping on John's land. Everything that you need is already there, set up ready to go. The place was very peaceful and quiet. Both of our dogs were able to run around the property and enjoy it just as much as we did. I would definitely plan another stay here.

What an incredible place. So peaceful, so secluded, exactly what we were hoping for. We only stayed one night for this trip, and we all wished we could have stayed longer so we will definitely be planning a longer stay in the future.
The bed was very comfortable, I always worry about that when staying at places away from home. We did have to relocate a few 8-legged friends from inside the yurt when we first arrived, but they didn’t put up too much of a fight.
We got rain during the night, and my new favorite thing is sleeping in a yurt while it’s raining. It was heaven. I love how the yurt is nestled under pines, it’s such a good spot.

We had a wonderful time and Jeff was great! We would certainly recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful, private spot to hangout and relax. The shower, kitchen, and outhouse were much appreciated- I really loved how well maintained and clean the outhouse was! We brought our dogs and they enjoyed running around and lounging in the sun too.

Tammy greeted my dog and I upon arrival and was very kind. She gave clear instructions and had a very nice area for us to camp. We were woken in the morning by the rooster which my dog was very amused by. The road is near enough the campsite to hear at night but the noise offers nice ambient sound.

We loved camping at riverside retreat! Took my 8 year old for his first night in a tent and he had a blast! Set up our tent maybe ten yards from the river and caught fish the whole time we were there. We will absolutely be going back and I highly recommend!!

Weekend Trip to Nature’s Refuge
We had such a wonderful stay at John’s glamping yurt! John was an incredibly kind and helpful host—he made us feel welcome right away and went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The campsite itself is peaceful and private, surrounded by beautiful grounds that made it easy to relax and unwind.
The setup is fantastic: everything is thoughtfully laid out, from the cozy yurt and outdoor shower to the well-equipped cooking area with a grill, stove, tables, and a great firepit for evenings by the fire. Awesome for our dog, too!! We also had a blast playing cornhole—such a fun touch!
We’re so glad we found this spot and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a private, relaxing, nature-filled getaway with great amenities and an amazing host. Thanks again, John!
