Weekend Trip to The Haven with 5 Camp sites

My family and i really enjoyed this location. Not sure if it was the time of year but we had run off the whole place. We stayed at camp 1 that gave us direct access to the shared doc but recommend site 3 of your looking for a more secluded space. The host was very attentive, shared local places to check out and shared firewood. While a local road was near, the loudest things around was the turkey somewhere in the distance. As a note that was not loud at all. We will absolutely plan a return trip and suggest this place.

Beautiful spot right on the river. Spot 1 is literally right at the dock and fire pit you see in pics. We fished and foraged for ramps. There are 100’s of ramps everywhere! I will say this is very near houses so if you are looking for a middle of nowhere site this isn’t for you. That being said the hosts are lovely, they gave us a cute little basket with s’mores ingredients. We brought our dog with us and had no problems at all. Such a quiet and beautiful place to camp.

Kat was a wonderful host — very helpful and always quick to respond to our messages. She also shared some great tips about the area. The campsite is right by the river and it’s beautiful. We visited during a cooler time, but we were still able to enjoy a campfire. I would definitely recommend this campsite!

Several camp spots with easy to follow signs to find them the moment you pull into the driveway. We felt isolated and alone, which was nice. John stopped by at some point to make sure we had everything we needed

My brothers visited for Friday the 13th and could not have had a better experience! Not only were Nikki and her husband so kind to greet us late in the evening, but they also brought us hot chocolate to keep us warm. The lake, ambient cabin, and full moon made the night perfect for DnD - will be returning during the warm months!

The Haven Camping and Outdoor Wedding Venue began in 2022, Our goal is to strive to share the property that God has graciously blessed us with, with the public. The Haven is nestled on 3 acres of beautiful land on the St Joseph River. Our property setting is a hidden gem that opens to the most beautiful natural setting. The land offers a gorgeous view of the river and numerous shady sites nestled underneath a giant array of Oak, Beach and Walnut trees. Here at The Haven, the property has ample space for parking, room for various size camping tents and small pop-up tents small RV's, A dock for fishing, and access for kayaking. Fire pits and grill area for cooking and a complimentary bucket with some goodies to start you off. This setting is perfect for camping in a private nestled nook on the river. We have more than one area on the property to choose from. You can choose any site you would like: The River’s edge, Beach Area (site 1) Small RV and tent site, The River under The Canopy of trees (site 2) small RV and tent site, The Cove by the woods, small camper, and tent (site 4). The Cozy Corner (Site 3) by the woods on the river (this is a secluded corner and very private.) And last but not least our Cozy Camper vintage Trailer that sleeps up to 4 people with all the amenities and can accommodate campers with tents (2) (site 5). Come Stargaze or hangout at the “spot” (dock) comfortably and lounge with views of the water or sit by the campfire at “The Pit.” Every site is first come first serve. Book earlier to get your desired spot! Bring your toys and play in the great outdoors! We have corn hole toss, horseshoe toss, but if you have toys you can use them here, throw the football, Frisbee or play some volleyball or Tether ball whichever! Or rent some of our Kayaks or fish and really enjoy the river! Porta Potty's are available. Don’t miss out book now! -If smoking or drugs are discovered on the property the whole group will be asked to leave with NO REFUND. NO EXCEPTIONS. Welcome to Sweet 16 Campgrounds. We currently have 3 sites. Site #1 is the RV/Tent site (1 RV/camper max. with unlimited tents, 8 people max.). Site #2 is a Tent Site (Great site for Hammock Camping, unlimited tents, 8 people max.). Site #3 is our double/group RV/Tent (2 Camper/ RV max.) site (16 people max.) You will be camping in the semi-wooded area at the back of the property. It is a really nice area to camp. Each site has a firepit and picnic table. We have about 2 miles of hiking trails on the property. We are in a great location to hike, paddle, bike, and explore SW Michigan. Nighttime is great for stargazing. We are 13 miles from downtown St. Joseph and 13 miles from downtown South Haven. We are located 1 1/2 hours from Chicago. Don't feel like exploring, then hang out at the campsite for the day. We are close to the SW Michigan Makers’ Trail (Wineries, Breweries, Distilleries). We are located 4 miles from a small beach (Hagar Park/Beach) on Lake Michigan (15 miles from the big beaches at St. Joseph and South Haven). We are 5 miles from the boat ramp on Paw Paw Lake. We are located just 2 miles off I-196 at Exit 7 (Hagar Shore Road). We are also only 20 miles from Sister Lakes. Dogs are allowed. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. About us: We have a 69 acre farm we bought back in 2019. We moved here from the Chicago area. (Tinley Park). We have 44 acres tillable and 16+ wooded acres. in back that we opened it up for camping.
