This property was the original location of Todd’s Fork Bluegrass Festivals back in the 70’s and is directly on Todd’s Fork with 1/2 mile of River frontage. We reside within the Village of Morrow, walking distance to restaurants and stores. The little Miami Bike Trail is approximately 1/4 mile from our entrance. This property is tucked away and you wouldn’t even know you’re close to town once you’re on site. Valley Vineyards is right down the road to enjoy a bottle of wine and cook your own steak dinner nights. Take a trip to visit Fort Ancient with a day hike. A Native American earthworks complex, the largest hilltop enclosure in the world and soon to be a World Heritage site! I have two properties which offer two different kinds of camping, which I have tried to itemize separately in the Hipcamp listings. The pictures were hard to sort out.RV's and Campers will park on the upper level at the Panama Street address which has water and electricity. You cannot actually see the Ohio River from the parking lot, but it is a short walk. Any pictures of water were taken from the tent camping site. If you are in a large vehicle, but are looking to spend a lot of time by the river,, you can hope that the site is available for use, which usually it is, (somehow I rarely book both places at once), or you can book both sites. Tent campers set up their tents right beside the river. There is a very simple house with a bathroom, cold running water, electricity, and also provides shelter in bad weather. It's an unusual set up, as perhaps Hipcamper spots often are. On one hand I feel like I am in the middle of nowhere when I am on these (small, very not fancy) properties by the river. On the other, there are planes, trains, barges and pleasure boats, and motorcycles passing by at times. California is just a few minutes off I-275 from the Kellogg exit, and a 15 minute drive from Cincinnati. It is the eastern-most neighborhood with a quaint village feel. Safe, flat, scenic and walkable, California offers several dining experiences, one a brewery, and quite a variety of recreational experiences. Riverbed Music Center, in season, is a mile away, walking distance, as is Belterra, the race track/casino. The bike trail is a few blocks away and connects to all the other area bike trails including the Loveland Bike Trail along the "Wild and Scenic" Little Miami River. A local nature preserve, California Woods, offers hiking and nature programs, and there is even the California Golf Course. A park with large, grassy open spaces and small playground is a few blocks away. Bring your game of horse shoes, corn hole, a frisbee to throw, your skateboard, golf cart, or some bikes just to cruise around and take in the scenery. The Little Miami River flows past Armleder Park a few miles away, which has a gravel river beach, a dog park, walking and biking trails and connects to the 5 mile loop around Lunken Airport. There is a lot to do in Cincinnati.

This is my home residence in the small town of Dry Ridge, KY. I am just 20 minutes from The Ark Encounter and historic Williamstown. I have a small pond to camp next to either with a tent or RV that has electric and water hookup outside of my detached garage. Behind the property and surrounding the farm of 125 acres is eagle creek. Swim, fish, canoe, or kayak for additional fun and relaxation. There are walking trails and if not too congested side by sides are welcome as well. If the creek is low, there is a lot of fun to be had collecting clamshells and other various unique items that the waters bring. Wood can be purchased for campfires if desired. A small fire pit will be beside the campsite and a larger one down by the creek. Come sit by the pond and fall asleep to the sound of the frogs chirping and other wildlife.

This is my home residence in the small town of Dry Ridge, KY. I am just 20 minutes from The Ark Encounter and historic Williamstown. I have a small pond to camp next to either with a tent or RV that has electric and water hookup outside of my detached garage. Behind the property and surrounding the farm of 125 acres is eagle creek. Swim, fish, canoe, or kayak for additional fun and relaxation. There are walking trails and if not too congested side by sides are welcome as well. If the creek is low, there is a lot of fun to be had collecting clamshells and other various unique items that the waters bring. Wood can be purchased for campfires if desired. A small fire pit will be beside the campsite and a larger one down by the creek. Come sit by the pond and fall asleep to the sound of the frogs chirping and other wildlife.

I had a great experience. I stayed at Holmes Hideaway site and it was beautiful - on the river with seclusion, fire pits, and plenty of tree cover. I went in mid-november and it was not crowded. Everything done through the app and I was left alone. It was a fun weekend.

The land is very private, we were able to access the property with ease. The camp sites were distanced very nicely as we didn’t really hear or see anyone else. Access to the creek was easy, the creek water was very clear in nature. We did some fishing and caught 4 large mouth bass and a species I never dealt with before. After few forums the fish was skipjack herring know. As poor mans Tarpon. You can hear the coyotes late at night hunting animals. We didn’t encounter any wildlife like deer, or raccoons. The owner greeted us very next day. I would def come back during the summer time and do some fishing. Camp site 3 was excellent cause we like being away from people and being on our own. The location took me by surprise. The owner gave us a tip on hot tent camping, I had a stove was too close to the ground. He recommended some stone or concrete blocks. We went to Home Depot and got some cheap stone stepping stones and fixed our problem with the stove.

The site was open with a beautiful view and felt very private. It was well taken care of with a nice electric hook up, bench, fire ring, and picnic bench. There was cut firewood ready. My Subaru Forester made it easily down the path. We had both a spot for shade and sun and we saw a beautiful sunrise/sunset. The stars were incredible. It was really quiet and peaceful with the exception of a barking neighbor dog (obviously not the fault of Handyland). There is a little pond and a gorgeous creek. It’s a 10 min walk maybe, but I was walking with a toddler. I brought a fishing pole and caught some creek chubs. The place is truly lovely. Josh was quick to reply and unobtrusive. My dog was able to run off leash the whole time. At the entrance there is bottled water for sale at $1 each. There’s well water I think but I couldn’t figure it out. I might have missed some directions there. There is also a microwave and little cook top and fridge. I believe that’s available to all the campers. We didn’t end up using it. There’s a little checkboard and table and it’s a cozy little spot if you want to interact with others at all. I’d suggest making it clear that you need your own water unless you want to buy. That’s probably my only recommendation and they may have been my fault. Otherwise, definitely going to be back. No tick or mosquito issues either. Thanks again Josh!

This was an amazing camping experience! the sites are very private and spacious. the hosts were kind and have taken time to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The land is beautiful, the creek is accessible and lovely. This was our first stay and we will be back! There are a couple nice restaurants near by (we ate at Fresh to Morrow) and an awesome bike path we will check out next time. We picked up records at a near by record store in an old elementary school building and enjoyed beers and a taco truck at the brewery 3 minutes away. We can’t wait to return and bring friends! Thank you to Fred and Glenn! You are doing this right and we are grateful! Jack and Aubrey (and our Escape 5.0)

Cool spot a short way down a windy road, and at the bottom you reach the campground. We were able to let our dogs run free with us while the goats were away at work, very fun. Peaceful and quiet, super clean toilet, and great place for kids.
