Our property is located north of Rockville, Indiana, in beautiful Parke County, right off Highway 41. Nestled in a quiet ravine, it offers a peaceful getaway close to local attractions. My husband and I live on site. We love to have guests, but still like to make sure that guests are comfortable. We try to only have a few families at a time. Our property has been a local campground since the 1970’s; we bought the property a few years ago and built a home. We now want to share our love for the property with others.
Turkey Run State Park and Shades State Park are just a few miles away, and kayaking or canoeing is available down the road. The area is famous for its 30+ beautiful covered bridges, as well as local Amish shops and food stands. Rockville itself has several charming coffee shops and unique shopping spots.
On-site, our property features walking trails, a his-and-hers bathhouse with toilets and showers, and a covered picnic area for you to enjoy. We are also within 30 minutes of Bridgeton and Mansfield—perfect if you’re visiting for the amazing Bridge Festival. We provide fire pits and firewood for your convenience. We have many spots on our property that you could choose to tent camp. We do also have some electrical units for campers.

This was once a self sustaining farm built in the 1950s. The farm raised cattle, pigs, chickens. There was 35 tillable acres which produced corn and oats for the livestock. The farm had its own feed grinder in the old barn. There is an old hand built cooler room where all the meat was stored. There are four wells on
the farm one of which is used for watering animals and cooling alpacas on hot summer days.
One of our tent sites is in the corner of our alpaca pasture. You'll hear the roosters, goats, donkeys and more than likely, Rose, our Maremma livestock guardian dog, throughout your stay.

Large secluded cove near our barn and garden. Watch the sun come up from the orchard. There is 1 electrical plug so not all 3 spaces have electric but you can run a cord. There is also a single water spigot to share as well. There are 2 houses somewhat visible through the trees but no direct line of sight and otherwise private. We have 2 dogs, Whiskey and Barb, Whiskey will usually keep her space but bark, if you ignore her she will be friendly, acts mean but never bites. Barbara is a Jack Russell. She will jump in the truck if you don't tell her not to and will happily run off with snacks. We ask you please don't feed them as it will teach them to come for food and some people don't appreciate the dogs.. This is a farm so you may see and smell animals. Depending on when you book you may even be somewhat near animals. Be aware of this and be ready to keep dogs contained. We typically run pigs in the woods around the cove but we move them regularly and keep the smell to a minimum by doing so.

We enjoyed the property, although we were busy enough on our trip that I don’t feel like we were able to fully enjoy the space or make a fire with the provided firewood. This worked out well for our weekend stay while visiting family in the area. Due to being gone most of the day for other events, we weren't able to take full advantage of the nice fire ring and picnic table area. However, the full hook-ups with the added benefit of WiFi were greatly appreciated after a full day. This is a lovely, quiet property well-maintained by a helpful host. We hope to return again.

Love being the only RV around! We’ve traveled the entire US over the past two years, and stayed in many RV parks and out of the norm spots.
This spot is beautiful, peaceful, and we love being by the horses. We have two dogs who also love the horses.
Michael is friendly and helpful! Definitely would stay here again.
One or two caveats: water has a lot of rust in it, so come prepared to change filters often
Spot is in the close vicinity of a construction yard so there is a lot of movement and pieces of equipment around

This was a great spot for us to stop for the work week on our roadtrip. Peaceful, private, nice camper hookups, and the wifi didn’t let us down once! The parking pad is level and pulling in was super easy. The best part was the clear view of the night sky and the field of fireflies at dusk.
Kurt was a great host - very thoughtful. He came by to introduce himself but wasn’t intrusive. He sent timely and thorough communication.
It was a quick drive into town and Purdue’s campus. We’ll definitely keep it in mind for future travels.

We spent 2 weeks here this time, and it was just what the doctor ordered. Privacy, quiet, nature, and pure peace. Nothing but the sounds of the woods by day and star-lit nights by evening. This is our second time staying at Kurt’s this year. We will be back next Spring for sure. This site is private and quiet. Kurt has thought of everything. You can tell that he is a camper by the way that the site is designed. The site is easy to back into. The sewer, water and electric hookups are perfectly placed and easy to use. Kurt’s property is beautiful. Can’t wait to come back.

This was our first HipCamp experience and we were not dissapointed. Kurt's property is beautiful; located far enough from town there is no light polution, so the stars were stunning. The campsite is thoughtfully located for extremely easy access and can accommodate any size rig. Kurt was a wonderful host, greeted us and offered to be available by text. He provided firewood! This spot offered us the seclusion and peace we wanted and we highly recommend staying here. Three days felt like a week to us, without the distractions of a noisy campground; just peacefulness.

Kurt is absolutely welcoming and accommodating. Often times when we go to State Parks and some Hip Camps we feel like we are more of a bother than a guest. This was the exact opposite with Kurt. He greeted us when we arrived but gave us our space. He accommodated us when we had a couple of special requests. Kurt’s property is absolutely stunning. As far as the site itself, he thought of everything from making sure that the approach to the site makes for an easy back in and departure. The electrical, water, and sewer connections are new and placed perfectly for most RV’s. The pad is a well packed, level gravel pad that handled rain like it never happened. We will stay with Kurt again. Thanks Kurt!
