Tucked away in the mossy rocks, The Hidden Frog offers a half acre of private, forested camping on the banks of Kelso Lake. The 60 acre lake allows non-motorized watercraft only, which makes for a peaceful, relaxing stay. The parking area has room for a vehicle and trailer up to 60ft long combined, plus another area for a single vehicle. It is adjacent to a shared driveway, so you must leave room for vehicles to get around you. You can choose to set up camp there, or down a short path to the lake where there is ample flat ground for multiple tents. The path is cleared but rocky, so always make sure to watch your step! A fire ring, shovel, bucket of water, emergency fire extinguisher, 2 chairs and one 13gal garbage bag are provided for your use. I live next door, so I'm around if there is anything you need (don't be afraid to ask!) There are no other amenities right now, but we plan on adding some as we start to make some money (i.e. an outhouse, electrical.) The shoreline is very bushy and rocky- not ideal for fishing, boating or swimming, but there is a free public boat launch site .4mi down the road, plus another at Granite lake .7mi away. Both offer a toilet, and a place for swimming and fishing (must have a fishing licence.) Please respect the boundaries and do not cross into neighbors' yards. Also, do not disturb the mosses growing on the rocks (it is a fragile ecosystem!) and respect the wildlife that make the space their home. Wildlife you may encounter includes deer, moose, beaver, otters, chipmunks, squirrels, frogs, salamanders, eagles, osprey, blue herons, ducks, and many other bird species- we are located on the Idaho Birding Trail. What a lovely spot! Our first trip out in our trailer and it was perfect. Such a nice shaded, clean, level spot with everything you could need. So close to Farragut State Park for a day in nature, but also close to a grocery store for the things I inevitably forgot. Ron and Vicki were so kind and easy to communicate with.

Campsite was great! Parking on top and a good spot by the lake for a tent. It was a bit of a tight fit for our big camper but worked for us. Parking spot was a little unlevel but that's what leveling jacks are for. Public access to the lake was just down the road. We had a great time there while visiting Silverwood. Cell signal was low, but host was more then helpful when knocking on the door.

The search is over! This is the ideal spot! Ron and Vicki were so kind, helpful and easy to communicate with. They met us as we arrived and even shared some of their homegrown garlic with us! This was our first experience using Hip Camp and I can’t imagine it getting any better than this. The location was easy access to Farragut State Park, Sandpoint, Coeur d’Alene and other smaller towns in the area. The campsite was spotless and extremely quiet and peaceful. There was even a porta potty nearby with a hand wash station. If you are in the area, I highly recommend booking your stay here and even adding on a couple days just to enjoy the peace of the campsite. Thank you again Ron and Vicki for providing such an amazing place!

Really enjoyed camping here! We were visiting Silverwood Theme Park for two days and couldn’t be happier with choosing this over a crowded campground. It was easy enough to get to and close to everything we needed. It had rained recently so there were a few mosquitos so you may want to bring bug spray. 10/10 recommend!

We booked site B and our friends booked site A. There are no other sites on their 20 acre property so it felt like our own private campground. Ron and Vicki were welcoming and friendly and greeted us when we arrived to check us in and go over the campground rules. This is a lovely property, close to Sandpoint, Lake Pend Oreille (Farragut SP), and hiking. We rented a pontoon boat in Bayview which is a great way to see the lake. There is a very clean outhouse with sink in it next to the camp sites for those who may not have bathroom facilities in their RV or who are tenting. Each site has its own picnic table as well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Ron and Vicki!

Owner has amazing communication. There’s two sites. He did a great job on the hookups. They look new. It’s a great spot to stay if you’re biking at Silver Mountain which is $30 to overnight in a cement lot with zero shade. This Hipcamp had some shade for our pups. Quiet spot away from traffic.
