The 30’ yurt came from Pacific Yurts in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The yurt was erected in 2022 and in 2023 we added all the rooms and beautiful woodwork inside. It is on a Kiln Dried Tongue and Groove decking. Yurts are designed to withstand cold winters and this one is no exception.
Temperature Control:
The decking is insulated underneath to help with the cold winters. When the sun is out on a warm day the yurt will heat up nicely through the dome and can be cooled by opening the windows, the dome, and running the ceiling fan. Also keeping the outside windows up keeps the heat out if you get to hot.
the yurt is equipped with a mini-split w/remoted, allowing personalized temperature control.
Kitchen:
We have everything you need to cook a meal at your home away from home. Refrigerator w/freezer, 2 burner cooktop, microwave, Keurig, and toaster oven. Have all the basics from napkins, plates, silverware, cooking supplies, spices, flour, sugar etc. Don’t feel like cooking then head down to the local bar & restaurant for a nice meal, drink, and meet some locals.
Living Room:

Our equestrian facilities include individual paddocks with attached runs (12’ x 52’), automatic waterers, feeders, rubber stall mats, a 200' x 300' outdoor sand arena, a 72’ x 120’ indoor arena, two round pens (one large), numerous trail obstacles, large-scale permanent outdoor obstacles, an outdoor washrack, as well as parking, port-a-potty, arena bleachers, and picnic table areas.
Nearby activities abound from visiting rodeos and wineries to trail riding at sunset near waterfalls or hiking painted desert canyons. This was a great place to stay for the night and see all of the lovely animals and property during sunset. The hosts were very kind and we were there for a busier weekend during the Kuna rodeo and Boise hot air balloons which was very fun. We got there late and left very early and everyone was very accommodating. We appreciated the nice touch of meeting the hosts right away when we got there too for a nice welcoming. Thank you again!

The yurt was super clean and had everything you could need! Maybe bring some chairs to sit outside to look at the stars, but otherwise amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer and explored more. Just know everything is a minimum hour drive except Idaho city. Will not regret staying here!

So I am learning a lot on my 5000-mile road trip. I really like places like Michaela’s which provide safe, unique and private, or at least semi-private experiences – rather than RV and motorhome parking lots. Michaela told me about her ranch and the critters on it. And I parked my car camping equipped RAV4 in a discreet area of the ranch. She and husband, Wyatt, are gracious and welcoming. Coupled with a Planet Fitness membership, of which there are 2500+ locations around the country, I can take care of my showers, stretching and working out out the road trip knots and enjoy the Black Card Spa massage chairs.
