This exquisite and secluded property is located at the base of the Koʻolau mountains in Waimānalo. Surrounded by breath-taking views that will captivate and invigorate your spirit, this private property offers an experience that is one of a kind. With over 10 acres to explore, this regenerative farm is home to many fruit trees, indigenous plants, wild chickens, and other beautiful birds that you will likely spot while taking a stroll on our nature path. We have worked really hard to care for this ʻāina (land), and we are happy to share it with respectful travelers looking for a quiet, authentic, farm-stay experience.
Camp Koʻolau provides bathrooms, a warm-water outdoor shower with an amazing view, and parking. Our farm is only a 5-minute drive to the beach, and 15 minutes from popular, Kailua town.
As a working farm, we do have insects and geckos hanging around. So, it's not uncommon to encounter them. Also, we often have visits from wild pigs that come down from the mountain, so you may see them as well. Although we are certain you will love this place, please keep in mind, it takes a lot of hard work to maintain it. Thus, you will probably hear farm equipment and activities buzzing about (typically on the weekends). And, we want you to respect, love, and care for this place as much as we do by leaving it better than you found it.

This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you.
Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege.
While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants.
This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. 10/10 would recommend this site to anyone! The site was beautiful and honestly my favorite part was the shower. So gorgeous. The sites are close to eachother but I don’t think that should matter. I felt very safe here as well and they were quick to respond to me with any questions. Definitely will be back!

I stayed on the farm with the 12 and 6 years old kids to have different more nature-based experiences. It was our first stay on the campground, and we loved it. It was close to the city, easy to find. Its very safe place where we could leave our belongings and go for a day. The kitchen was available to us wherever we needed during working hours. It was quite and peaceful, but be ready for roosters (however they didn't disturb us), they bring a charm to the farm along with two lovely goats-pets. They let them feed goats what children enjoyed to do. The water in shower was warm even at night time, it was a pleasure to take a shower and looking at bananas above the head. The farm is well taken care of, and living among banana and coconut trees gave us a feeling of being in subtropical woods. We will definetely come back. Thank you, Marcos, for your dedication and desire to work on the land and bring awareness to the tourists! So sorry not to meet and talk to you in person!

Definitely recommend this site! It is close to the residents but I don’t think it matters. It was so cute and the land is so beautiful. We were booked with another site and when we arrived felt so unsafe. We wanted to come back here and this was the only option for the night and took it and I’m glad we did. I also did their park and pitch site before this and another night after! Both are so amazing. Felt safe and the host was quick to respond.

The space wasnt overbooked, What i mean is the overall site was cozy, and i could barely hear my neighbor rustle in their space, thanks for not pack em in like saradines! You could easily add a dozen more.

I loved the communal feel of the campsite & was at a great location for lots of hiking, food, & adventure. The staff was very kind to us when we needed help, which is always a big plus! Chickens are definitely loud, so would recommend bringing earplugs for that if you’re a light sleeper. All around great experience!

Absolutely stunning campsite! The host welcomed us with some freshly picked pua. The grounds were well kept, and quiet besides the beautiful sound of a variety of birds singing. We wished we had booked for an extra night but we will definitely come back here if the opportunity ever arises again. Mahalo nui again for such a wonderful stay!

Weekend Trip to Waimanalo Farmstay
My husband and I stayed one night on the beautiful property as we were just arriving in Oahu.
The yurt was just what we needed. Clean, very comfortable bed, stunning view from the bed AND from the rest of the property.
Communication with the hist was easy and directions were clear.
We loved to watch the roaming chickens and waking up to the call of the roosters.
You have to expect a short walk to the shared bathroom.

Our family had an amazing time camping at Sun Farms! If you love the outdoors and have an interest in gardens this place is perfect. The outdoor kitchen, laundry area, shower and restroom were all in great shape and super helpful to have during our stay. This is a bustling farm, and we loved meeting the dog, cats and farm animals.
