We love that we discovered Hipcamp and this special place! 🤗 we took our classic cars to the car show on 4th of July in Haleiwa and live in Kaaawa so made a weekend out of it! Super amazing to have absolute silence during the night and a warm shower & potty! Recommend for all that wants to explore North Shore and all it has to offer 🤙🌺

Beautiful views and lots to explore. Wasn't sure what areas were ok to roam freely due to other sites on the property. Unsure of the property layout but Slept great and felt safe aloha 🤙🏼

Perfect campsite, great location close to Kailua. Some mosquitoes, but not too bad. Very clean, spacious, and organized tent. Great bathroom and shower.

What a great host. In an environment that’s not camper friendly (Oahu), this place is a gem of a spot. Thank you for a good time! Oahu camper vanners beware. This isn’t a friendly island to camper vans so stay here!

Mangrove lounge was a 10/10! The host went above and beyond. It is on private property so make sure you respect their land. Such a great, peaceful location close to everything the north shore has to offer!

Chiarina gave us excellent instructions! We were able to get to the area without any problems. Luckily we were the only campers there which was awesome! The place was very clean and quiet. The shared kitchen area was awesome! We used the small grill and were so happy that there was a kitchen sink and prep area that was well lit with solar lights that came on when it got dark. The picnic tables are a great space to eat and just hangout. We also loved using the fire pit for smores. Although everything was great, the best part was the on demand rain fall shower! It's always nice to have a hot shower after a fun day of adventures! We definitely recommend this place!

7 nights at Waimanalo Farmstay

Me and my daughter felt super safe and it was an amazing place to stay at. The view is beautiful and the place is taken good care of. The shower was nice and hot, the mini fridge and stove were clean, and everything was overall clean and organized for us. Great place to stay and will be coming back in the future.

My family loved this spot! The hosts were super sweet. The location was fantastic and easy to get to. We opted for the covered picnic table and it was amazing! The host gave us recommendations of her favorite places and they were spot on. Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful time and we hope to return one day.

6 nights at Waimanalo Farmstay

We enjoyed the serenity, simplicity, and beauty of this peaceful place. Highlights include the early morning bird song chorus (including but not limited to roosters), the outdoor shower, the snail friends(please watch where you walk at night!), exploring the orchard, the mountain finally peeking out from under the clouds, being close to Waimanolo beach, the cribbage board, plenty of off grid solar powered electricity and battery storage to use my cpap.

What a sweet little place! It had everything we needed and it was a perfect place to spend the night.

2 nights at Maleka Farm: Camper-van & Tent

The camping space was wonderful, amenities exactly as described. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained with ample supplies. There is no potable water from taps, but there was a water filter on-site that had hot or cold water. The camping space had a picnic table and plenty of space to pull in or turn around a vehicle. The 3 camping spaces are a bit close to the permanent tents, but I did not feel crowded at any point. There were some bugs (you are camping after all) but it was very minimal and bug spray kept them away from me. The video directions to the farm helped a lot, but some things in the video (like the porta-potties or the truck trailer) were not on the land when I stayed so I took a wrong turn when locating the camp the first time. I found my way quickly enough though. The farm is technically not on the North Shore, but only a 15-20 minute drive from many amazing beaches and restaurants. I met some other people staying on the farm and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Overall I recommend camping in this space!

7 nights at Waimanalo Farmstay

The land is absolutely beautiful! There are indeed feral chickens, cats, pigs, and many other animals wandering the grounds. None of them bothered me throughout my stay. The roosters make a great natural alarm clock, if you wish to wake at sunrise. Directions to the farm are easy to follow and I had enough cell service to reference the directions online on my first night, but it’s still a good idea to review them before arrival. The scenery is breathtaking and Lex recommended some great local activities and beaches to visit. This farm is about a 30 minute drive from the downtown Honolulu area, but the drive is very scenic and traffic usually isn’t bad. The camping space is as described. I had several nights alone, but there were others camping on the farm for a few nights too. No one was in my area and everyone was friendly and respectful. The shower had hot water and the toilet is fine. There was one night where there were many bugs in the bathroom, but after that one night I did not have anymore issues. Keep in mind you are camping, so bugs are ever present, and sometimes it can feel hot when there is not a breeze. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a scenic and safe campground. The WiFi was a nice feature and having potable water at the campgrounds was very convenient.

Easy to find and nice, wide open spaces. Loved having a nice, hot shower and bathroom to use. The goats, chickens, and geese were a fun bonus. Very quiet and peaceful until you get to wake up with the songbirds in the morning. The extended hours were nice too.

This is a breathtaking space that our family has poured many decades and multiple generations into. We are surrounded by jungle, with a freshwater stream running through the entire property and unobstructed mountain views. If you’re especially sensitive to mosquitos, bugs, geckos, free roaming chickens or other elements to be expected in nature, this might not be the place for you. Waimanalo is a small agricultural town filled with nurseries, horse stables, and a high concentration of Hawaiian homes. It remains mostly undeveloped and authentic, and we aim to keep it that way. Outsiders do not often get the opportunity to stay back here, but we welcome respectful travelers looking for an authentic experience who can appreciate this privilege. While nestled against the mountains, we're just a five minute drive from the beach. We are fifteen minutes from Kailua town, where you'll find several grocery stores, shops, and restaurants. This is a working farm. While we are very hospitable, we are not in the business of hospitality. I am happy to accommodate travelers, but I am not here at your beck and call. If that is the experience you are seeking, I think you would be happier elsewhere. We appreciate all of your bookings, and profits go directly back into farm infrastructure and new fruit trees. For Camper-Vans: Maleka Farm can accommodate camper-vans of various sizes. The Farm is flat. Hiking Trails: Maleka Farm provides easy access to a variety of hiking trails in the town of Laie and surrounding areas. Some popular trails in the vicinity include: Laie Summit Trail, Ma'akua Ridge Trail, Laie Falls Trail, Malaekahana Falls Trail Local Attractions: In addition to the mesmerizing mountain views, Laie and its surrounding areas offer a variety of attractions such as the Polynesian Cultural Center, an immersive cultural experience showcasing the traditions and history of the Pacific Islands. Welcome to Hau'ula Homestead! We are located on O‘ahu, the beautiful Hawaiian Island. Right across the road from Hau'ula Beach park and a short drive from famous North Shore beaches. Flat grass field with some trees and bordered by a stream. We have two RV/tent campsites available. If you are bringing an RV, we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. No hookups are available at this time, the sites are flat. Campfires not permitted. We are pet-friendly, but please keep your pets on leash. A toilet, potable water, and wifi are all available. Kokololio Beach Park is a 2-minute drive from the site. Hau'ula Loop Trail is only 4 minutes away. Kokololio Beach is a nice stretch of sand and during the summer months, swimming is possible. When coming from the south, turn left toward the mountain immediately before the long Hauula Beach park bridge or when coming from the north turn right immediately toward the mountain just after the long park bridge into my dirt driveway. You will have the small river on your righthand side as you drive in.
