2 nights at Roadside Fruit Stand Exotic Orchard

Rose and Family were very nice and accommodating, making it very easy to find. It felt very safe and secure there. Her beautiful land and Fruit Stand were the real stars of the show!!! We woke to a deeply beautiful landscape with sheep roaming close by, who grazed pleasantly close to us during our breakfast; and afterwards we partook of her very tasty Fruit Stand!!! Definitely recommend both the chilled coconut and the fresh squeezed sugar-came and ginger juice!!!

3 nights at Wild Blue Water Ranch

Blaze’s property was picturesque and exquisite in both sight and feel. His service was warm and inviting without being intrusive, and his enthusiasm for the land was very infectious! Completely stunning place!!! Wild Blue Waters is centrally located in proximity to both Hilo and the parks and beaches on the Red Road to the south. That is, if you even want to leave! We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub and spending time overlooking the ocean. It was truly paradise!!! We hope to be back.

Weekend Trip to Moon Garden Getaway

We loved camping at Mae's Moon Garden! The location was clean with full bathroom facilities right next to the campground area. There was a nice tent area to hang out in. My girls had the best time, roasting marshmallows by the fire pit and using the camp gas grill to make dinner and breakfast the next morning. Most importantly, we felt safe! With just us females camping out, we felt so safe and secure to have fun and be ourselves. Thank you Mae! 10/10 would recommend and stay again!

Miss Joy was a delightful host. She was attentive, accommodating, and when we had an issue, she fixed it extremely quickly. We were so glad to have a hot water shower on our camping trip and overall it was a great experience. 10/10 would recommend staying here.

The place was easy to find and Blaze was super helpful. The pool was very clean and it felt good after a long day of hiking. The views off the cliff were definitely something to see. The shower and toilet were also well maintained. Be sure to bring mosquito spray.

My husband and I loved camping at Maes! The directions were very clear and the site was easy to find, we arrived after dark too. When we woke up in the morning it was like we had been transported to a little wildlife sanctuary. There was birds and other insects chirping, a beautiful sunrise and everything felt so calm. The bathroom and shower is very clean. We wish we had time to stay more than one night.

Very clean and well manicured property. The morning coffee op watching the sun come up over the ocean is special. Did not use the pool or spa but it is very nice looking as well. The bathroom and shower were clean and shower is very nice. The dogs are great and will greet you when they can. The frogs and birds at night are loud if you are not used to them…lol. I would definitely return in the future if we camp the big island again despite the frogs…all part of the adventure. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

Thomas’s place was great! We went to see the volcano and needed a place to sleep for the night. We decided to sleep in our car but the property was awesome. He has a little cottage there too and places to tent camp if needed. Thomas always responsive even when I changed our arrival time.

Yip Camp provides a setting that promotes immersion in nature. The property is located on the Kilauea Volcano at about 2700 feet in elevation and in sight of the majestic Mauna Loa volcano rising at the peak at 13,680 feet. Both volcanos have been active recently. There are several trails at the National Park nearby; trails and several species of birds live on the property including Japanese Pheasants. On clear nights the skies provide excellent ambient viewing of the moon, planets and constellations. The campsites and cottage are located in the woods near a shower and flushing toilet and the property is off grid with the goal to establish an example of sustainable lifestyles and ecosystems. Camping equipment is available upon request and the cottage is furnished with a basic kitchen. The grounds also include a screen room with a grill, tables, chairs and a fire pit. Local fruits and vegetables are grown on the property and the greenhouse provides food. Solitude is available for those who seek silence and immersion in nature and a number of state and county beaches are within a forty minute drive. Beaches are about forty five minutes and the drive to Hilo is about 25 miles.

We are a commercial orchid farm starting the homestead 8 years ago. Lava caused us to evacuate 2 years ago before it stopped a mile above the farm and Malama Market. We have a lava tube on the property you can explore. It’s so tall in some places, you can drive a school bus through. Good to bring headlamps if you're interested in this and just for walking around the farm when there is no moon! We are currently constructing a wood fired pizza oven in the place where our picnic tables and eating area are located.Pitch your tent or stay in one of our rooms or junglelows in the middle of our orchid nursery. We have outdoor kitchen, hot showers and flushing toilets. Located in the heart of Puna in the country but only 10 min walk to the village of Pahoa.
