As all the land here is born of lava, many moons ago this land began to host plants and critters. Long after, it was sculpted and a number of families and farmers have contributed to what we have today. An abundance of fruit and vegetables within sight of the ocean. Peaceful breezes and warming sun make for unparalleled tranquility. Today the land still gives back to its visitors. Come recharge. As this is agricultural lands, there are many critters. Dogs, chickens, pheasants, peacock, mongoose, and many birds. Tge invasive coqui frog is annoying to some and calming to others. The micro climate here swings from warm and dry to wet quickly. Best to always prepare for rain. There is snorkeling, beaches, local food, Cafe, BBQ, poke, fish-n-chips, grocery, Sunday farmers market and hiking nearby. It is peaceful here, but also an active farming community. As an organic farm, we put alot of effort into soil building and as such, there are soft places that will be damaged by the weight of a vehicle. Staying on the driveway is best. We will guide you to where you need to go. Our road is paved, but bumpy. Any vehicle will make it without damage if driven slowly. 1 to 4mph tops. *Be sure to avoid the camper rental companies that restrict certain roads. Aloha and have a great day.Tucked into the Ohia forest on the gentle slopes of Mauna Loa surrounded by various native plants, the cool mountain breeze will refresh as the oceans views energize. Shaded areas and spots with full sun and views of the stars offer a breath taking experience. Undeveloped camping with *** no ameneties *** offers a natural experience on a working farm. Enjoy hiking up the mountain. Beaches and coastal hikes are a short drive. Note: It rains almost everyday. Are you ready? We do have a portapotty as a test run.

Great spot!
This place was so quiet and secluded!! Even in July we were super cool (even cold!) at night, which was a nice break from the hot Hawaiian sun. Colin was super helpful, would definitely recommend

Colins farm is so beautiful and welcoming. We arrived at night and were greeted to our site. We did a farm tour and learnt so much about the farm and the Big Island. We will definitely be staying here the next time we visit.

Awesome place to stay above all the business of Kona. Farm tour by Colin covered all things farm related and interesting facts about beer, coffee, and life in Hawaii. Really enjoyed it!

Camping in upper Kealekekua Bay
Colin is a great Hipcamp host and personally guided us on the phone to our campsite. He’s great to talk-story with as well! We enjoyed camping in a new spot on the island with his wonderful dogs and the verdant landscape. As Colin will tell you, go slow up the road—it’s very bumpy and steep.

Colin was great and the site was perfect for what we needed. Only thing to note is that there's a rooster that starts crowing at 3am. I understand it's a farm and roosters are gonna do their thing, just wish I would have known ahead of time, so here's a heads up for others. Otherwise the farm was great. Friendly dogs, great host, and a beautiful spot!

Spacious. Great communication, it's only 1 mile off the main road however it's a bumpy road and will take a while to drive up as you need to go slow.
