We have a hidden exotic fruit orchard tucked away through rolling green hills, perched over the Hamakua cliffs, overlooking the pacific. We sell our fruits ripe and cut ready to eat at our roadside fruit stand, open 10-6 daily including holidays! We serve local fresh juices and machete open coconuts to drink ice cold. We grow mango, durian, lilikoi, star fruit, chocolate sapote, buddhas hand citrus, finger limes, tangerines and tangelos, jackfruit, tree grapes, mangosteen, white pineapples, mountain apples, berries, spices and much more. We are home to dozens of rescue animals, many who came from Puna during the 2018 lava flow. Meet peaceful sheep, lambs, chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese and a lovable pet pig. Not to mention our friendly farm cats. We are a community of a few passionate farmers and fruit lovers. The lower 15 acres consist of many different gardens, a green house (please do not enter), multiple Food Forests, 8 Cabanas, 2 classrooms 4 showers, 3 composting toilets and a kitchen with common area. Each cabana is screened in 360º with views, two bunkbeds (sleeps 4), air mattresses, (Bring your own Sleeping Bag/Pillows) shelves, clothes lines on outside and lockable doors. There is no electricity in the cabanas but there are power strips available in the common area. The common area consists of a large deck with picnic tables, Wifi access (pw: pickalltheweeds), power strips for charging electronics, canopies for when it rains, a 2-burner hotplate for cooking, pots, pans, plates, utensils, cups, dry food storage and a full sized fridge with freezer. Please keep the area clean. We also offer morning Breakfast Basket options: Small basket $ - 2 Papayas, 6 bananas, 2 cups of coffee. Large basket $ - 4 papayas, 10 bananas, morning coffee during your stay. Please keep in mind the fruit may vary depending on what is ripe. Coffee In order to preserve water we utilize clean non-smelling composting toilets. We also have 4 hot water showers, 2 sinks and vanity areas. Please keep showers to 5 min or less, Mahalo. If you come with a 4-wheel drive vehicle you are welcome to drive farther up on to the property and park closer to your cabana, just follow the Parking signs. We do not recommend you drive up with cars or low vehicles as the terrain is a bit rough, instead please park down in front in one of the parking spaces. Nice surroundings, quiet and felt secure. Code for entry was wrong so probably need to update that. We were able to get it from the fruit stand before close. But if we arrived later not sure what we'd do. Overall great experience.

We camped in our campervan and it was easy parking, quiet and level. Make sure you communicate with the camp before getting there as we didn’t have cell service once there and the starlink did not show up on our phones. Also make sure you screen shot the route or download your map app.

Lovely and peaceful spot! Unfortunately we couldn’t make it before dark so had a hard time navigating to the place and within the grounds. But once we got settled we were amazed by the Milky Way view - best stars I’ve seen in a long time! The sheep gave us a very friendly greeting & we thoroughly enjoyed the fruit stand offerings. Def recommend it for a basic and peaceful camping experience!

Rose and Family were very nice and accommodating, making it very easy to find. It felt very safe and secure there. Her beautiful land and Fruit Stand were the real stars of the show!!! We woke to a deeply beautiful landscape with sheep roaming close by, who grazed pleasantly close to us during our breakfast; and afterwards we partook of her very tasty Fruit Stand!!! Definitely recommend both the chilled coconut and the fresh squeezed sugar-came and ginger juice!!!

What a beautiful place to start our trip!!! We stayed here as our first night on Hawaii Island before heading down into Waipio valley for another hip camp stay and some backpacking and it was a fantastic way to start our trip!!! The tent we stayed in was luxury at it's finest with a super comfortable bed, spectacular views and all the amenities that you could ask for!! It felt more like luxury than camping and we absolutely loved it!! Greg and his family were very friendly, kind and helpful and we are so grateful for them sharing their home with us!! Thank you again for a wonderful trip to a wonderful place!! Mahalo!!

Starseed Ranch was an awesome space to unplug. Our little Hale was very cute and adorable, with a nice covered porch, comfortable bed and little closet + drawers. The roof makes a lovely sound during a rain storm. We had the place to ourselves, which was lovely, but would love to see this place in full force. The outdoor kitchen and sitting areas were well maintained and ready to host a feast. Next time! Was great to see some regen ag up close. Loved our time here! Highly recommend!

Amazing location! The platform tents are very ‘glamping’ luxurious- electricity, comfortable bed, spacious tent, lovely porch to watch sunrise over the ocean, hot showers and full plumbing bathroom across the yard, well-stocked outdoor kitchen to use. It was quiet, peaceful and absolutely beautiful. The hosts were friendly getting us checked in and oriented. Only wish we had planned to stay more nights!

Very peaceful and special place. We stayed in Balo Hale and it was comfortable and clean. Loved the shared outdoor kitchen and dining area, getting fresh fruit from the farm (only those on the ground of course) and chatting with some of the other guests. So glad we spent 3 days of our vacation here.
