We live on site on 17 acres that is surrounded by large tracts of undeveloped land with the Oconee National Forest within 1/4 mile and the Ocmulgee river within 1 mile. The name Seven Islands comes from the rich history of this area and the nearby trading site between Native Americans and settlers in the 1800s on the seven islands of the Ocmulgee River. For Equestrian campers, we have an electric hook-up near the house and a round-pen size paddock for horses (or can make panels into stalls) +$7/horse/night. (Note: We reserve the right to refuse lodging to horses with runny noses/runny eyes or otherwise sick). *Cabin being remodeled. To be open some time in 2025* We are happy to ride with you when available if desired - or we recommend using the Outdoor Active or Gaia app. Our tent camping area is a peaceful, shady area overlooking meandering Kinnard Creek. The dirt road is within view, but it is a country road rarely travelled by anyone other than kayakers and other recreationists. You may hear the friendly nicker or see our 3 horses coming to check you out, but their pasture area does not intrude on the camping area. Hike or ride your horses on the nearby trails. The Fried Green Tomatoes cafe and Sac-O-Suds (famous from the movie "My Cousin Vinny") [Edit: Sac-O-Suds store is currently closed. But still a scenic drive-by] are an easy drive as well as Covington GA where you can see The Vampire Diary clock tower (or take a tour of other filming locations). There are many quaint shops in town, a 10 minute drive, or in nearby Madison GA. This is a great country getaway to reconnect with nature and peace. I didn’t spend too much time at the campsite except to sleep, but it was nice to be in the woods at night and still have access to a modern-rustic toilet/sink. He offered to give me an awning during the rain as well, which I saw too late haha but was appreciated.

Beautiful farm atmosphere complete with Wade and his sis Willow, farm dogs! Beautiful horses and a super quiet setting. Ocassional trains not as close as some RV parks. Rear hookups may require long hookups. Our Grand daughters really enjoyed the fall festival too. Water pressure may dip when filling horse troughs.

The best thing about this site is the hospitality! The property owner greeted us and helped us find the electric hookups, the water, and the restroom - he was also very responsive to any questions I had. However, they rent out 2 spots so if you have a large tent I do not recommend getting the smaller spot, because it is very small and the adjacent landowners are very close and have a dog that barks nonstop all night. The large camping spot is amazing and removed from the barking dog. We stayed in both spots and the small spot was very difficult to fit into because I have a large tent. Overall I recommend it because it’s a great location near town and I live in Acworth and only took about half hour to get there, but it’s also fairly remote near Red Top mountain.
Pros: amenities, hospitality, convenience to town, great room to spread out if you get the good site.
Cons: houses very close by, just off noisy road, limited space if you get the smaller site

I loved the property. We got beautiful sunrise and sunset views with all the sweet horses and goats. Our dog also made friends with the farm dogs. The directions were very clear and the whole area was extremely peaceful.
