Just over a mile and you find yourself at the Deep Gap/Flat Creek trailhead for mountain biking and hiking fun. Close to the waterfall trail off of Rock Creek road. Come and feel the breeze as it blows across the meadow as you nap under the trees. It’s a place that the whole family can enjoy! Now with 2 outdoor showers(hot/cold), full bathroom and bike wash. *Please note that the bathroom/outdoor showers and bike wash are located on the outside of the barn which is also a VRBO. Weekend Trip to The Ridge at Stanley Gap

We really enjoyed the a-frame in the meadow. Having access to the bathroom was also a huge plus, and it was close by. The location was perfect; just outside of Blue Ridge, close to Lake Blue Ridge, the Toccoa River, and lots of trails. The cots were comfortable, the a-frame was plenty spacious for two adults and two dogs. The meadow at Stanley Gap was an inviting space, I would definitely recommend a visit.

Well, maintained A frame in the middle of a large meadow. The owner Josh was very pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable. In hindsight, I would have brought a thick mattress cover for the camping cot, and a small portable battery powered fan. I purchased some earplugs from the local hardware store to stop the noise of the bugs during the night!!!!! Overall, a very pleasant experience in a well positioned campsite, the facilities were spotless.

Loved staying in the A-frame this time with my son. We geared up for the cold weathered nights and stayed over the weekend so we could go hiking at some of our favorite spots!

Where to go

North Shore

The wooded north shore of Lake Lanier is dotted with sandy beaches, lakeside parks, and islands. Head to Little Ridge Park to hook a bass in Buford Dam, cruise out to explore Three Sisters Island from Two Mile Creek Park, or cool off with a swim at Mary Alice Beach.

South Shore

The star attraction of Lake Lanier’s south shore is the Lanier Islands resort, home to the Margaritaville aqua park, sandy beaches, and a winter snow activity area. Check into a luxury lodge or villa, stay at the RV resort, or snag a lakeside campsite at Shoal Creek Campground.

Northwest Shore

The northernmost tip of Lake Lanier is the place to escape the crowds. Head to Chattahoochee or Chestatee Golf Clubs to play a game of golf by the lakeside, set out to cruise the lake from one of the marinas, or check into the campgrounds at Toto Creek, Bolding Mill, or Duckett Mill.

Northeast Shore

Lakeside Gainesville is the gateway to the northeastern waterways, which snake north to meet the Chattahoochee River. Hop over to Thompson Bridge Park to picnic by the lakefront or launch your boat, enjoy events like live concerts and Food Truck Fridays (March through October) at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, or explore the hiking trails at Don Carter State Park, which also has RV campsites and cabin rentals.
