I wouldn't drink from the well but it could be used for other things. Very safe quiet area. Its just a mini hobby farm but you're more than welcome to check out the chickens and my pig Peppa. If the chickens are laying good I will get you some fresh eggs.

So you can have a tasty meal with the sound of the river flowing in the background. Also we are within 5-10 minutes to stores, restaurant , etc. But wait, there's more excitement! If you're looking for an even bigger adventure, this is the perfect spot to begin an awesome kayaking trip if you brought your kayak. This creek property was probably used by the Creek and then the Cherokee as a campsite because of the abundant water and wild life. Later is was farm land and in the 1920's had approximately fifty mules working the land. The Old barn and blacksmith shop are still here. In 1977 the government planned to put a four lane toll road through here but was stopped by the oil embargo which caused the right of way to be auctioned. We were able to buy 200 acres for a small amount of money and have been raising cattle and camping on it every since that time. As a Scout Master I have been using this site for camping for the past 15 years. Time to let others enjoy. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or hammock in a grove of hardwood trees in a nice meadow on the banks of Lake Creek with old timey swimming hole. It is about 8 feet deep in center going to about 4' at sides and 20 feet long. Big stone grill is provided as well as large fire pit. Kindling and firewood is provided. ten minute walk to the main house for potable water and other needs.  37 acre farm with hills and a wide variety of wildlife and plants to inspect. Camp is in rural area couple hundred yards off county road but secluded. Plenty of deer, turkey, geese, wild ducks, beaver and other wild life in the area. A secondary campsite is provided down the creek with area for tent near creek. Fire pit and firewood is provided.

Great little place just outside ATL. The camper and bed are super comfortable. The open barn was a perfect hangout. A private plot next to some incredible moss covered boulders. Will 100% be back again

Weekend Trip to Glampsite 17 Acre Farm South of ATL

We really enjoyed our stay. The camper is the perfect size for two people. We also had our two small dogs. Unfortunately it was really cold when we were there, so we couldn't take full advantage of the amenities (like the hammocks!!). Space heaters were provided in the camper and bathroom and took the chill out of the air. There's also a wood stove in the barn, which we used one night. However, since the barn is open to the outside, the space really doesn't heat up and you have to be sitting directly in front of the stove to warm up. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful space with lots of homey details. Also, the fireplace and fire pit were prepped with kindling and firestarter--making it super convenient to get the fire started. The bathroom is nice and spacious; I loved the rain showerhead, and the toiletries provided. There's also a nice little kitchen area, including dishes, a small fridge, electric cooktop and a few pots/pans, coffee maker, and even an ice maker. The string lights outside the camper are pretty bright--it would be nice if they were on a timer or if there was a remote/instructions for turning them off at night. That's really my only complaint. Kaitlin was friendly and easy to communicate with. We had no issues accessing the property and orienting ourselves. I'd definitely come back, preferably in a shoulder season when I could take full advantage of hanging out in the barn and hammocks. It's a lovely, magical little spot!

1 night at Glampsite 17 Acre Farm South of ATL

A most magical spot that is both expansive and private! It's hard to believe that it could be even better than it is in the photos, but it is. The barn space is so unique, welcoming and well set up. The trailer bedroom space was comfortable and cozy, even in subzero overnight temperatures. The showerheads and water pressure are great, and we were able to prep food in the generous kitchen space. This is great find for those passing through and for those visiting Atlanta.

George and Gino were so kind and have thought of everything at the campsite. You get the best of both worlds—a secluded camp site feel while still being near some conveniences like a port-a-potty, tubes and life jackets, picnic tables, charcoal grills, rope swings, homemade wooden benches and other unique, handmade seating along the riverbank. They’ve customized the common area along the riverbank for family fun and convenience. They provided firewood, fire starter, a fire pit, and made sure we had everything we needed. We loved our experience and will bring the rest of the family back for some warm weather fun.

Where to go

North Allatoona Lake

The US Army Corps of Engineers Upper Stamp Creek and McKaskey Creek campgrounds can be found near the central northern branches of Allatoona Lake, near Corbin. The two campgrounds are located near boat ramps and swimming beaches, and together offer 80 campsites for tents and RVs, with water and electric hookups, picnic tables and dump stations. Barstow County’s Gatewood Park also offers tent and RV sites, and includes a boat ramp, swim area, and picnic shelters.

Central Allatoona Lake

Just east of Cartersville, Red Top Mountain State Park is centrally located on a peninsula between two arms of the lake. The popular park offers more than 15 miles of hiking and biking trails, boat ramps and docks, playgrounds, picnic areas, and more than 100 options for staying overnight, including walk-in campsites, tent, trailer, and RV sites with electric hookups, cottages, and a yurt.

South Allatoona Lake

The southern branches of the lake have the most options for campers. The largest is the Corps of Engineer McKinney Campground, with 150 tent and RV sites, some lakefront. Nearby, the county-run Clark Creek North Campground offers all waterfront tent and RV sites, with a dock and swim beach, while Clark Creek South Campground has a boat launch. Several private campgrounds also include cabins and cottages. The Corps of Engineer operate the Old Highway 41#3 Campground, the southernmost of the lake campgrounds, near Acworth.

East Allatoona Lake

Three Corps of Engineer campgrounds let campers stay along the eastern shores of the lake, near Woodstock and Holly Springs. Sweetwater Campground, at the northern end, offers 150 tent and RV sites, including lakefront sites, while Victoria Campground and Payne Campground together offer more than 130 sites for tents and RVs. All campgrounds are located near docks and swimming beaches, and include fire rings, picnic areas, and dump stations.
