The property is in a perfect location for star gazing, safe with gate code.Owners have a residence and can assist with pre-delivering firewood and or even a complete tent set up.Private nooks for campers and a new bath house being built. We went with 2 dogs 3 kids and it was great!

Weekend Trip to Larry & Sheila's Blackwater Getaway

We lucked out here. We had a quiet weekend (as you can with THREE boys 12,13,13). Sheila and Larry were so friendly, they stopped in a bit after we arrived. We were able to chat a bit while we were allowing the boys to be boys… sometimes it’s hard to be able to. It was so refreshing for me to enjoy nature and let the boys do the work and run like heathens for once. We will most definitely be back to this beautiful piece of property.

Amazing memories made at this gem of a spot. We enjoyed our stay. The weather was just right during the day and the evenings were just right for sitting around the fire. The white sandy beaches of Florida (Pensacola & Navarre) were in close proximity. Getting to know our host Joseph was a highlight for us. We had a camping spot in the woods on top of the pine needles and among 130 year old pine trees. Anyone looking for a space outside of

We had a fantastic time staying at The Wandering Path. Stayed at tent site #8 which is more secluded and it worked out perfectly since we had a pup with us. This was a nice in-between of a typical state park style campground and backcountry camping. The spots are spread out enough so you aren’t on top of your camp neighbors but you still have a picnic table, fire ring and access to some facilities like an outdoor kitchen and a bathhouse, both of which were very nice and extremely clean. Amanda is a fantastic host and I am looking forward to spending more time camping at the wandering path in the future!

This is a beautiful, private campsite. I love waking up to the roosters, trees and solitude. The walk in is very short and well worth it. Hosts are kind. Highly recommend this place.

If you are looking for an outdoor getaway and like to camp this is the place to book, we are so happy we did and will be back with more family! We brought our 4 year old and he loved it, especially the walk to the kayaks! The three tents are spaced out enough for everyone to have plenty of privacy! If staying during cooler weather bring proper attire at night to stay warm! The owners are super easy to get ahold of and if they are very helpful if you have questions about the area! We will be back soon!

What a fantastic place!! Drive down the road, enter thru gate, and you’ve entered a place of peace, serenity, quiet, and if you are on a healing journey, do not pass this hipcamp up. Joseph is a great guy, very personable and friendly,, the kind of friend you havnt seen for a long time. It was exactly where i needed to be. His property has a great mix of sun, shade,, and lighted paths through the trees. So good for the soul. I highly recommend it. Definitely one to go back to. Thanks Joseph for having this unique place of healing and tranquility 😎😎.

3 nights at Bay Forest Retreat

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our three night stay here in the glamper! It was spacious and very comfortable and could easily accommodate a few more people but was quite spacious for us as a couple. The hosts were very easy to contact and were responsive to any questions. Brooke reached out the evening of our arrival to ensure everything was good with the site. There was also a picnic table, several chairs, and a fire ring to enjoy! There was plenty of space to feel isolated but close enough to town to enjoy that aspect of the vacation. The walk to the beach area was nice and there were even a few kayaks and a picnic table down there for people staying on the property to use! 10/10 would definitely come back here again and would recommend it to anyone!

3 nights at The Wandering Path

The whole experience was amazing. Amanda was very helpful and was nice to talk to. The bathroom set up and kitchen set up was nice and clean. She had small heater, fan, lamp, and heated blanket that made it more comfortable for the cold nights and warm daytime. I liked how she also proved a grill and trash can for each yurt site. I hope to come back again to enjoy the kayaking and nature view.

Nice location set back in the trees. Jay was friendly and helpful. Not much road noise, very quiet except for birds, occasional rooster crowing and donkey braying. Good birding with a lot of native plants and transitional habitat.

2 nights at The Wandering Path

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at camp site #5. It was large enough for our 6 person tent. 4 of us stayed there comfortably. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The bathrooms were perfect. The host was very kind. We will be back!

Explore 11+ acres of rustic and untamed woods. We are two military veteran families who enjoy the land as a place for family and friends to explore, camp, and relax at the 250+ feet of the East Bay beach. Primitive camping is permitted at designated wooded high grounds in the middle of the property. It is a 5 and 10-minute rugged hike in to the middle ground and waterfront, respectively. The trail remains under development, so please bring close-toed shoes or boots for hiking throughout the property (depending on rainfall, there may be mud and water). Our Glamper is a 10x12 canvas furnished tent located a short but rugged 2-minute hike from parking. It provides the opportunity to go camping without having to pack all the gear. As the Sun starts to rise on a new day ✨️ dozens of species of birds from the Great American Bald Eagle , To the endangered woodpecker, The blue herrings, bluebirds(we have mating pair that comes every year) blue jays, mocking birds, doves and several other species and occasionally a couple small black bears like walking through, we want you to have a peaceful and relaxing stay here while you visit everything,here at Garson Point were several species of carnivorous plants grow wild and our beaches have much to offer. It's official -- after 4 years of politics we are officially a park and a preserve.....9 acres of 🚶‍♂️ trails 👣 we are still constructing trails by hand I believe this place has a spiritual strength to people of all nations History of our location Count De Galvez awarded a land grant on Garcon Point to Antonio Garzon following his 1781 Siege of Pensacola in consideration of “his good services rendered as an interpreter to the Indians of Pensacola." The grant was held for 35 years before Maria Garzon, who survived husband Antonio, sold the land they called Garzon’s Point to Joseph (Jose) Bonifay. The land uses were favorable for cattle grazing and turpentining through the 1800s. Many more pioneer families moved into the area and began their own business in the booming industrial opportunities of western Florida. It came to be known as Yellow River Marsh State Buffer Preserve on June 12, 2000, when it was purchased by the state of Florida to protect rare and environmentally sensitive lands, plants and animals. Through generous donations, Preservation 2000 and the Florida Forever Program, more land was added to protect contiguous habitat of the Garcon Ecosystem. Today Yellow River Marsh Preserve State Park provides recreational opportunities for hiking and nature study along the Great Florida Birding Trail among rare and endemic plant species and within one of Florida’s oldest multi-cultural frontiers.The preserve is located in Santa Rosa County on Garcon Point, which separates Escambia Bay from Blackwater Bay. Nearly 20 rare and endangered species of plants 🪴 and animals make their homes along the bay and its wet prairies, dome swamps and flatwoods.
