FOB Pelican has an air conditioned trolley car converted into a bar that overlooks the bayou and a larger outdoor bar that overlooks the bayou. We also have a small beach with canoes and kayaks.
There’s feeders that attract numerous turtles and fish to watch at feeding times.
The bayou leads out to the Blackwater River accessing downtown Milton river walk or go south into the bay and Pensacola.

My stay at FOB pelican was an awesome experience. I brought my 3 Yr old son with me. We were able to explore, cook with a camping stove, build a fire, and enjoy very courteous company from our camp site owner. This was the perfect level of adventure to get my son interested in the outdoors without any stress to me.

Andrew was a great host and even brought us a fan for the little red shelter! The bathroom was clean and well supplied with shampoo and conditioner choices and a body wash. The shower was really nice since it was able to be adjusted for your comfort . Wonderful woodsey walks with the dogs in this peaceful setting. Fenced in area in front of the shelter so the dogs can sit out with you and relax together.

Great host! Thoughtfully provided us with a fan, we have access to basically a private bathhouse with shower, sink and toilet since at the moment there are no other campers or RV guests.. We have a lockable door on our little red shed, electric is provided with a light in the room. Strings of lights make it special to be here in the woods at night. Our hosts allow us complete privacy which is nice.

Weekend Trip to Sandy Creek Resort
Igor and April's property is absolutely gorgeous, well thought out, and a magical place to spend any amount of time. We had an amazing time kayaking on the creek, cooking in the outdoor kitchen and just enjoying our time on their magical property. The yurt was comfortable, well provisioned and had everything you could possibly need. We will definitely be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Kodys land, well maintained, climate controlled bath house with laundry and sink available. Full hook ups with a gated entrance. The site is very centrally located to anything you may want to do from beach activities to shopping and eating. Publix withing walking distance and Walmart and Target just a few miles down the road. There are tics so make sure and bring some repellent, helicopters do make frequent and repeated night touch and go I'm assuming training exercises but wasn't a bother we enjoyed it honestly. Kody was quick to respond with any questions we had. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Had a great time this weekend at Travel Downs. Plenty of room for the kids and dog to roam, gated with fire pit. Best part was the seclusion and we cant for get the air conditioned bath house with washer and dryer. About 20min to the beach. Would definitely stay here again!

Remote area but was perfect for staying the night grabbing a shower and moving on! Hot water in the shower/ bathroom combo with great water pressure. Pad to put up a tent if you want, or you could sleep in the barn it has electricity to charge all your items and wifi. Andrew responded to my texts quickly.

This place was amazing! All the little details that you see in everything they have built there, by hand! My favorite part was the smell of fresh wood in the yurt. And the bathroom, was beautiful. I want my bathroom at home to be that nice. I will definitely be booking another night here in the future. The host was amazing too. Super friendly, made you feel comfortable, and responded quickly to any questions!

This place is a hidden gem. Andrew has thought of everything to make this place comfortable. I stayed in Tent site C, the red barn, and used it mostly as my charging station and lounge area. I pitched my tent right next to it. The grounds are well lit, shower was hot and toilet clean. It was perfect for my stay with my dog. I recommend downloading the app Merlin Bird ID to name the morning choir of birds in the area. It was a peaceful stay. We will definitely be back.

We had a great time! I love being outside and setting up a hammock around the fire and be away from everything! My girlfriend needs a little more- so this was PERFECT! Beautiful set up with many extras to enjoy. Felt like we were in a hotel room! But still got to set up my hammock, cook over the fire, and feel like I was out and away from everything! They have incredible outdoor kitchen ready for if you want more than the fire. The hosts were great communicating and making sure we were set up and enjoying everything! Very friendly and welcoming! Felt comfortable the entire time. Looking to book again soon and get goat yoga scheduled:)

Wonderful stay! We stayed at Lot 60 for a little over a month. The site is very spacious even with our 44ft toyhauler and truck. It has a buidling with furnishings, sink, refrigerator, microwave and 10 person table. Creekside also offers a pool and community room. Its the perfect spot to visit The Gulf Shores with restaurants and shops within a mile. The people at Creekside and helpful and kind. We had an absolutely amazing stay and will be back!

Where to go
Blackwater River State Park
Blackwater River State Park is just 45 minutes away from Gulf Breeze. It features nature trails and interpretive exhibits as well as kayaking, paddling, birding, fishing, tubing, and bicycling. The area’s contiguous longleaf pine and wiregrass ecosystem is rare—even compared to tropical rainforests. Camping is allowed in the area in one on-site campground with 30 available spacious gravel campsites. There are also full hookups, and the campground can accommodate tents or RVs up to 35 feet.
Santa Rosa Island
A barrier island set within the emerald waters of Pensacola Bay, Choctawhatchee Sound, and Santa Rosa Sound, Santa Rosa Island features white sandy beaches that are popular for swimming and shore fishing. Pensacola Beach is the most popular beach on the island, and its restaurants and beach bars contribute to a fun day trip. While camping on the island isn’t permitted, nearby campsites, cabin rentals, and RV parks offer convenient amenities like full restrooms and nearby supply shops.
Big Lagoon State Park
Explore the saltwater tidal marshes and pine flatwoods of Big Lagoon State Park. Hike along the park’s lands to see wood warblers and sandpipers trails as it’s one of the stops on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail. Or take a kayak out and paddle along the Florida Circumnavigational Saltwater Trail that also passes along the park’s shores. Camping is permitted on-site at RV and tent campsites—reservations are required. Most spots can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet. There are also ADA accessible campgrounds in the park.
When to go
Temperatures in Gulf Breeze range from the mid 80s during summer to the 50s in wintertime, making for a year-round climate that is great for camping during any season. The gulf breeze helps dispel humidity in summer, but bugs are prevalent in the area during warmer seasons. The area is also known for short rain showers, so bring rain gear.
