Absolutely beautiful & spacious yard. I decided to go a little past the main yard beyond the historic looking stone walls and into the forested area for a hammock camp. It truly felt like a secluded spot out in the wild woods. I saw a deer and heard the cries of distant coyotes calling to each other. I loved every moment and will definitely be booking again in the future for a tent campout or a car camp… or both 😃

This spot was great for our adventures! My husband had a work conference at New London and my son and I came along for the adventure. This site was under 30 mins from the base and train station making it a great central location. We were able to visit mystic Connecticut (less than 20 mins) Newport RI (1 hour) and Boston (1.5 hours driving and commuter train/ almost 2 hours the day we were dropped off at Amtrak in new London). Hosts were amazing, 30 amp was reliable. Spot had minimal road noise. The coyotes may serenade you at evening, this is just the joy of Connecticut and proves just how private this spot can be. Highly recommend.

This is a project of my brother and I, to create a healing center / space for people to come connect with the land. We have just built a deck to put a yurt on site for healing sessions. The Sandbox campground was born from The Sandbox Indoor Beach Sports and Events facility, which mainly focuses on providing year round beach volleyball. We bought the property in 2015 and opened the facility in 2019. As it happens, it's a 12+ acre lot surrounded by wetlands, hiking and biking trails ... there will never be another building built within view of our facility. We are surrounded by nature, and will be forever. So what a great opportunity to offer camping and access to all of the forests, woodlands, wetlands and trails around! And if you're up for it, come play some beach volleyball and meet new lifelong friends :)
