Naturita is an amazing place for Dark Sky viewing, hiking, camping, biking, and scenic drives. The outdoor recreation opportunities are endless. It is very close (driving) to the Dolores River. The land is surrounded by BLM and near the Uncompahge National Forest. The Dark Sky campsite is also close to the Unaweep/Tabegauche Scenic and Historic Byway. We are about 2 hours from Moab, UT! We go to Moab to get sushi. Come here to get away from it all!
The land itself offers incredible mountain views. You park at the tree line with desert Sage brush views to the East, Pinion and Juniper trees with a private canyon and beautiful rock formations to the West. Just North is 45 acres of landlocked BLM public land walking distance from the campsite. Unit 70 for the hunters who know how legendary this area is. Our land has an obstacle course, private paintball/gel blaster/nerf field, seasonal lake, trails, canyon, elevation gains and drops. Pets are encouraged to join you.

In the heart of the Mancos River Valley, you'll find yourself at the perfect basecamp for all that the area has to offer! It's just 15 minutes to the entrance gate at Mesa Verde National Park, designated in April of 2021 as the 100th Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association.
Take a scenic two mile drive to historic Downtown Mancos, to find art, dining, and fun. Historic Mancos, known for its thriving creative district, is the home of the The Raven House Gallery, The Artisans of Mancos Co-op, The Painted Turtle Gallery, Bombdiggity, and Kilgore American Indian Art.
Downtown Mancos is also home to dining options from local food trucks to fine dining. Fenceline Cidery and their delightful riverside cider garden host a variety of local food trucks on a rotating basis Family friendly eats are always on the menu at the Columbine Bar & Grill. Very private tent site, incredible view of Cortez and the mountains in the distance. Nice for stargazing too. The tent sites were so private no one would know you were there. Nice rustic cg. The facilities were clean and maintained. Every possible kitchen appliance was available for your use. As a tent camper the elephant in the room was the road noise. I understand that's not something the owner can control but for some it could be a deal breaker - generally I was so tired from hiking it did not matter.

I found this camp at the last minute, while pulled over on the side of the road. It was awesome! The owner came and showed me around and advised me on working the hot shower. There.was a pond, total privacy, with everything I needed. It was lovely and I would definitely recommend staying at CampV!

The RV park was right off of a main road so it was a really convenient spot. The views were great, especially at night. Even though it was close to a road, it was nice and quiet. I might be blind or something but I couldn't find the Eagle sign. I checked the availability of the other spots and just stayed at Lion. Other than that though, I can't complain. The amenities were awesome. I'd totally recommend if you need a shower or laundry done.

I arrived after dark and left the next morning so I didn’t get much time to explore, but I was quite pleased. The tent sites were beautiful and well maintained. The bunkhouse was a nice feature to be able to use the bathroom, boil some water for my nighttime tea and I found it very clean. My only complaint would be that the tent sites were not marked at all. The road to get to the sites is very clearly marked and they’re easy to find, but once you’re there, it is not clear which site is which. In fact, I’m pretty sure I used the wrong one, which wasn’t a big deal because no one else was camping, but on a busy night this could be a pretty big inconvenience if someone is adamant about having the exact site they paid for and you accidentally setup in the wrong one. All in all, lovely experience and I would highly recommend!

The location was very easy to find, the sites were easy to navigate, and the clubhouse was clean and comfortable! The tent sites were primitive and secluded from the RV sites and clubhouse for a more intimate experience!

Camping at Dark Sky Paradise is always a wonderful experience! We return every year to enjoy the quiet and solitude. Sonny is a fantastic host and made sure we were able to locate the fire wood we requested and communicated with us whenever we had questions. I highly recommend this camp spot to enjoy the beautiful stars, gorgeous terrain and incredible views. Ridgeway is not far away and we always enjoy taking time to visit Orvis Hot Springs for a day. Do yourself a favor and make time to enjoy this unique place!
