We are not only off grid, but also nestled in a large natural caldera (meaning a volcano that has collapsed on itself) and are right next to national forest. This means that we can experience all 4 seasons in a single day - having extreme winds and rain in one moment, and clear summer skies the next! We invite you to not only be prepared for this, but to lean into the experience as this unique high alpine environment can be one of the most inspiring and epic places on earth. This place was great! So thoughtfully designed -- even though there aren't any trees, the campsites are situated so that you can't really see one another when you're in your little space. Lots of little touches, like the lights along the pathway, a nice playground in the park, the cantina in the middle, make it a really pleasant stay. And the showers! Very very nice showers. The host, Adam, was really friendly and accommodating, and we had a really nice stay the very last day of the season. Will definitely return!

Amazing views at this spot! Quiet and secluded as described. Star gazing was incredible. There are quite a bit of cacti so have booties and perimeter set up for dogs if possible. Would recommend if you're interested in secluded off grid spot.

The campsite and camp grounds are very nice with great amenities. Provided grills, chairs, table, and coverings at each individual site make packing and arriving a breeze. The camp ground bathrooms, equipment rentals, and the ease of firewood ($) and water are similarly great. We had 2 great nights and hope to bring groups with us next time!

This was an absolute gem! Chris was super helpful and informative navigating to the campsite. I was blown away by how private and secluded it was. This was my first solo camp trip and it was everything I was hoping for and more. I loved the vertical firepit which greatly helped get a fire started due to wind. The star gazing was amazing here! I’ve never seen so many shooting stars.

Happiness is a yurt with mountain views and camels for company.

We had a great time staying on Meghan’s land. We rolled in late for our stay, but had no trouble with the clear instructions she provided. The yurt is truly a treat, coming stocked with camping stove supplies so we were able to cook some light meals. I also really enjoyed the wood-burning stove to keep warm. We also treated ourselves to some camel milk fudge and camel yarn. We stopped here for our trip to Great Sand Dunes, and Meghan recommended we stopped at Sand Dunes Recreation hot springs in Hooper nearby. It was just what we needed! Incredible place for a desert getaway.

We stayed in a tent. Each site is private and far from other guests. Very organized, has everything you need, cooking stove, grill, fire pit, table, chairs, you name it. All the amenities super clean, they even have breakfast! The host was very friendly and stopped by to say hi and ensured us that if we needed anything that we forgot to bring he probably has it. I wish we stayed more than one night.

Our site was farther away from the showers, so we rented a fat tire bike to get around and it worked out great and was fun to cruise around the campground. Loved the design and special amenities and thoughtful touches - like popsicles when we checked in!

This felt like a magical gift from the universe. Found it last minute and it was definitely off the beaten path but that was what I wanted. It felt like being at the center of the universe with views all around the canyon especially at night. The wolves howling and the nighthawks grunts were the only sounds at night and it was so peaceful! The hammock swings were also a really nice touch. The hostess and her dogs were very friendly and helpful too! I will absolutely stay here again.

Very quiet and very dark the week we were there. Sunsets and stargazing were amazing. A great place to go if you want solitude. It was breezy and dry the days we were there A great place to camp. A lot of thought went into the design and layout of this campsite. The restrooms were clean and the showers had hot water. The only annoying thing were the little Nats/Flys that showed up when the wind calmed down.
