The Ute Lodge was homesteaded in the 1930’s by Joe Fox who after leaving the military came west to settle in the White River valley.
Joe was known for his friendliness, hospitality and wild stories.
Today you might find much of the same. From Joe’s day to today it is a place where families come together to get away.
The Ute Lodge is now owned by Karl and Mona Maser who celebrated 20 years of ownership summer of 2019!
All summer our cabins are filled with guests from all over the US as well as international travelers. One of our favorite things about the summer is our weekly potlucks where we all share an outdoor meal. All of our visitors have a standing invitation to join us around the community campfire at night.
From our beautiful private lake (where you can paddle-board, kayak and fish), to immediate access to the Papoose and Crooks Park Trails on National Forest land, as well as the vast variety of wildlife that roams around, you can find what you need here to unplug and get away from it all.

Good place to overnight. I was confused a little when driving in but everything worked out. Road is nearby but not to noisy especially after 9 pm. We didn’t use the fire pit due to a fire ban but the pit looks good.

Great spot and close to the lakes. We stayed two nights and enjoyed our time. Brandon has a cool place and is also a fishing guide. The pond was down a bit in late July, but that’s probably to be expected. Nice spot overall

Loved staying on Brandon’s land! Really enjoyed the pond and how peaceful it was. It was very easy to get to and my dog loved getting to run around here. There were other campers across the pond but they weren’t a bother. Would absolutely camp here again. Brandon was a great host!

3 pond was everything we were looking for! We wanted to get out of town for the fourth and get the dogs away from the fireworks and it was perfect! Our host was very responsive with details about the spot and updates. The reservoir was a 5 minute drive from the site and was super fun to go cool off in. If we’re ever looking to camp in the area again we’ll be back.

Tent camped here and loved it! Nestled between Harvey Gap reservoir, Rifle Gap reservoir, and Rifle Falls, there is a lot of fun to be had. The site is very well maintained, with a nice flat area, some shade trees and a cool little pond where you can watch some bass zip around. A short walk up the hill and you can connect to wi-fi from the nearby house on the property, which is a nice option if needed.

We very much enjoyed the quiet campsite. It was minutes away from both Rifle and Harvey Gap reservoirs making the days travels to the lake short and sweet. The small pond on the property offered occasional peeks at the resident bass. Catching one will be a chore as they are very picky and skittish but cool to see swimming around. Evenings were wonderful! Cool temps allowed us to open the camper windows and be comfortable all night getting that mountain air feel we crave fostering a rare full nights rest. Morning sunrise was an absolute delight. It’s a small but perfect little campsite.

We had a great time here :) it is SUPER close to Harvey gap and rifle falls which is a must see! The property was private and had a bench and fire pit. The area was pretty and the host was great! Amazing communication and very responsive! I would recommend this place!!! Also was fun to watch some fish in the pond :)

We had such a great experience at 3 Pond Ranch! I came with my kids for the weekend (5, m; 9, f) and it was perfect. The site was recently cleared, so plenty of options for pitching the tent. There's a picnic table overlooking the pond, and it sits between two trees for shade. The site is very close to Rifle Falls State Park, so if you are headed that way, this is a great option. There is also some wi-fi availability, but ideally not actually at the campsite (there's a signal at the top of the hill, but I really appreciated not having direct access at the site but still being able to get one if I needed to).
The coolest thing for us is that the owner also runs a fishing guide company, and he stopped by the site when we were doing s'mores and my kids got to help stock the pond with bass. My kids had never held fish before, and Brandon and his family were super patient and friendly about it.
I think folks easily remember bad trips, but this was a weekend that I will never, ever forget--for good reasons. Thank you, Brandon, for a great spot and an unforgettable experience! My kids didn't want to leave and we will be back.

Easy access, pretty view, quiet, loved not having a lot of people around us so the dogs could play. Owner was very nice and let us come a little early and provide wood for the fire. Definitely would recommend and will come back again

A perfect spot to Winter Camp for an excellent weekend of skiing at Steamboat. Our host Taylor was more than accommodating and super helpful for me and the gang. An easy trip to town, in a nice quiet area with amazing open skies. Would definitely recommend to any van, truck, or rooftop tent campers.
