If you want to stay on the west side of Rocky Mountain National Park, this is where you want to be

The west side of Rocky Mountain National Park is my favorite. It's a great place to capture photos of Moose, Elk, and other wildlife.

The Milky Way is amazing out here. This is your view during the summer on a moonless night

At the back of the loop so there's forest right behind you.

One of the Snowbird campsites, along the Timber Lake trail. It was very well maintained.  A bull moose walked through my campsite, twice!  This is the closest campground to Timber Lake (1/4 mile up the trail) and is very convenient for a dayhike up Mount Ida. 

Rocky Mountain National Park

A moose was spotted this day near Cub Lake Primitive Campsite (within 6miles of Moraine Park Campground). What a sight!

You can walk to this trailhead from Moraine Park. Look up Cub Lake and Fern Lake trailhead!

Still snow in June on the Bear Lake hike.

Lily Lake is a great stroll during sunset. 

Looking down on Julian Lake from Mount Ida

Ouzel Lake campsite.  With only one spot you are guaranteed to have the entire lake to yourself! About 2.5 miles away from Bluebird Lake as well.  I stayed at Ouzel Lake, and then the next day hiked to Bluebird Lake and all the way out with plenty of time.
