There is access to white water rafting, guided fishing, and fishing lessons. There are at least 5 hot springs within 60 miles of Twin Bridges Campground. Salida is considered the white-water rafting capitol of the US by some and has a whitewater park and surfing wave. Salida area is also home to a ton of hiking (14'ers anyone?) and mountain biking trails. The Royal Gorge is a quick 30 minute drive with restaurants and other fun near Canon City. The Sand Dunes are 90 minutes and Monarch Ski Area is 45, we have some of the best bird watching! Warbling Vireo, Western Wood-peewee, Cassin's Kingbird to name a few.

What a sweet property with sweet hosts! There are several places to rest and relax on the property. My favorite was next to a water fountain. There are so many treasures about, endless details to admire and enjoy. We picked goji berries and strawberries to add to our breakfast as well as herbs for accenting our dinner. Everything is magical about Mari’s place - as well as comfortable, super clean and beautifully artistic. With no hesitation I would visit again. We left feeing relaxed and rejuvenated.

4 nights at The Fisherman's Cabin

We loved our trip to the Fishermans Cabin! The sun would shine down on the side of the mountains to our south each evening at sunset for a stunning view. We were a ways from the river and thought we would be closer and also found out we couldn't fish the river because the fisherman's club has bought up the land around the river making it inaccessible to others. But we didn't have to go far to find a place to stick our feet in the river. The cabin was cozy and clean and well stocked with essential needs. Toilet shack was clean and not far at all from the cabin. Highly recommend a trip to this place. Lots to do and lots to see in that area! Or, a great place to just lay in the hammock, also provided, and enjoy the smell of pine and enjoy watching wildlife. Thank you Simon for the wonderful experience. We alos got to meet the grounds keeper who lived just down from there ,,Bearcat I believe was his nickname...super sweet man and he brought more supplies and water for us and offered more blankets if we needed.
