Our camp area is right next to our home. We live on 2 acres which is apart of our families 500 acre ranch and home to a summer camp and retreats. There are nice hiking trails we can direct you to as long as the National Forest isn't closed. We have a few picnic tables, outdoor electrical, a grill, fresh spring water, water hook up and beautiful scenery all around. We do own a few ca. Our space isn’t huge but we are happy to share. We live in a remote area and its beautiful and quiet. There is a local town 6 miles down the road that has several places to eat and one small place to get some grocery. This property that we live on has been lived on now by 4 generations. My grandpa bought this land with his brother in 1940s. His brother eventually sold his portion leaving my grandpa with a little over 500 acres...We also run retreats off and on year round on the main property and offer a wide variety of things for our clients. Due to COVID, and the strange year had, we thought that this would help us gain a little of our money lost as well as meet some really cool travelers along the way. We call this God's country because it is a unique and beautiful peace of land, even in the driest of moments. And...there is beautiful manzanita trees all over property. We personally live 1/2 mile from the main part of the property Jameson Ranch, where the summer camp is held. I love to garden and are in the process of expanding our portion of the property to putting in fruit orchards and berry bushes. Our whole property also borders the Sequoia National Forest and there are some fun walking trails around there. Its very peaceful here and a reconnect with nature so to speak if that is what you are looking for. We hope to share this little bit of our heaven with you. Side note: If interested in the summer time programs for kids camp or family camp, let us know and we are happy to share that with you too.

The ranch been here for many years ( We uncovered a buried Horse wagon from the late 1800's at the back end of the property) . There was originally a very small cabin, but since it was upgraded by the previous owner around 1961 by adding a small kitchen and indoor restroom instead of the "outhouse" . However, some campers have found that not to be the case for them and wanted 4WD, so come prepared either way. - If you are unfamiliar navigating using GPS coordinates or with off grid camping, our location may be hard to find and may not be a good fit for you. - It can get very windy sometimes so come prepared to snuggle up in the back of your car or camper and enjoy the stunning stars, sunrises, sunsets and views. - It is considerably easier to navigate with a little daylight. - We are happy to provide you with a map as well upon request, which seems to be the most direct route. Tent camping on the land was beautiful, thankfully our group had the place to ourselves! Loved the privacy and secluded land. Walking the dirt road neighborhood streets was a great exercise without going far. Our dogs loved the off leash opportunity. We will absolutely visit the land again. Only con our party had was we booked for 3 nights and didn't realize the porta potty was already pretty full, however it didn't smell and was very clean. Next time we do hope to have an emptier potty or access to both.

3 nights at Split Mountain Retreat

My wife and I had a very enjoyable stay at split mountain. Full RV hookups, a beautiful shaded area with Punic tables, Adirondack chairs, and fairy lights. Not to mention the gorgeous view of Lake Isabella when you wake up in the morning or during sunset. JD, the on site host was very friendly, informative and welcoming. He provided great recommendations and was very responsive when we had questions. He met us upon arrival despite having a later arrival time. I would highly recommend this Hipcamp!

Weekend Trip to California Poppy & Wildflower Field

The land was beautiful! If you want to be isolated, then this spot is for you. It’s near a farm, which is fun because we saw sheep, cows, and dogs near our tent. We went the first week of May and thought we might see some flowers. No flowers because it hasn’t been raining there. Even the Poppy Reserve had no poppies. Heads up: it was super windy (14 mph & gust 24 mph). We were able to tolerate it during the day. The night was even windier, and we didn’t get a good sleep quality. Besides that, it was fun to meet farm animals (from a distance) and embrace the land.
